This is my tzeentch army im wondering with you guys think, also i believe the thousand sons should be a stand a shoot army so i have not termies, possesed or anything assualty but my lord and dred and AC's are only for back up when CC armys come close up.
these are my CC elements
chaos lord: re-rolling hits and wound with a power wepon he has 5 attacks 2+ save, 5+ invunrable and he can turn termies in his slave or kill a carnifix if he rolls 4 4+
Champions:my champs are decent in combat they have 5 str 5 attacks with power wepons, they also re roll
Dred: destroys a land raider when he rolls a 2 or higher or 2 dice
Chaos lord / 180
with lighting claws, 3 thrall sorcerors, spiky bits, gift of chaos or wind of chaos, warp focus, terminatour armour
8 tzeencth warriors 1 AC with Mc power sword, deamonic mutation, deamonic strength, melta bomb, 4 thrall sorcerors, doombolt or bolt of change and talisman of tzeencth / 301
8 tzeencth warriors 1 AC with Mc power sword, deamonic mutation, deamonic strength, melta bomb, 4 thrall sorcerors, doombolt or bolt of change / 296

This is quite a good list. I too like the infantery approach on the sons. But...
The Lord has a couple of things I must ask about.
Mass-mutation, now that's a strange and expensive spell. When on earth (or elsewhere) is he going to use it and on whom? I guess you are talking about Gift of Chaos not massmutation.
then it's the Daemonic aura/armour combo. that's a complete waste of points here. You have no rhinos (more on that in a sec), no veteran skills as you are marked. So why pay more for theese two then you would for a terminator armour that would grant you an extra attack as well? You might want to change this.
The Troops are quite good but I would recomend powerfists instead of the powerweapon/meltabomb combo. You do have the wound to soak any hostile attacks. The fist is supperior.
The heavies are good but do you really need three in a 1500 game?
What this army lacks is mobility and that's very important for the sons. For standing and shooting this army is great, but that's a tactic that rarely works. If your opponent is wise you'll end up with stand and die and that's not all that fun.
You could use one squad as a "fast attack"-shocktroop. Take some sons of make it six men including the champ and put them in a rhino. Use wind of chaos and thralls.
Now you can put some pressure on the enemy around objectives etc.
Why not make two such units? You could drop some of the HS and even tune down the lord (make him a Lt?)a bit in favour off this.

hm.... thanks for the advice i changed the lord and yes i will do the "shocktroop" thing you were taking about. its just 85% all the armies in my clubs are CC and the tactic off "stay as far back and shoot" worked quite well , but it might of been he was rubbish.
