Hello, this is my first post. I am thinking of starting a Chaos army I put together on my "Army Builder 3.1" All the validation rules are satisfied. I wanted the smallest 2000 point army I could make and here is what I came up with...
An'ggrath the Unbound (888 points)
Chaos Titan (840 points)
Chaos Space Marine Squad (142 points)
Bloodletters Pack (130 points)
That came up to a total of 12 models for a 2000 point army!!! I just want to know from some of you more experienced people if this setup could work. This was the smallest number army I could come up with for 2000 points. I really hope I can use this list. Thanks in advance for your comments.
OMG no, that would be a terrile army.
For one, your opponents can refuse you to use the titan and spending that many points on characters is madness.
You need lots more units, plenty of marines is a good place to start. You will nedd plenty of marines, maybe a greater deamon and some obliterators to get a nasty list.
I'm no expert but that would be madness.
Sorry to be harsh but thats that list is severly flawed, any half decent 2000 point list would defeat it will little trouble.

Im afraid that that army would not fair well. It's an interesting idea but im afraid that it wouldn't be that cost effective, however, it'd be an interesting army to play!
By the way, welcome to LO! Hopefully you'll enjoy the site!
I agree, it would not be a very combat-effective army. And, as the outsider said, people could refuse to let you use the titan. Also, the character is mroe than the Titan?!?! That is crazy. Too many points invested in one place. Also, have you noticed that titans are like $400? Are you sure you wanna pay that much for 1 model in your first force?
That's my advice.
Shields of the Emperor SMs (in the making)
Nurgle IG AC/Grenadiers
Remember, give people rep if they help you.
Darn, I wasall excited thinking I could have a 12 figure army. Oh well, Thanks for the advice. I appreciate it. I will keep searching for a small effetive army then.
You could still use that army if you like but like mentioend earlier you'd have to have permission to use the titan.
Are you specifically looking for a small Chaos army?
Or is any small army what you're looking for?
Small armies that I can think of.
1.The all terminators Tzeentch list. (As far as I can recall, you can equip Rubric marines with terminator armour, which moves them into elites, but I think that your HQ choice pushes them back into troops. Not 100% positive there though.)
4. Any Chaos or SM list with a preponderance of Terminators, elite units and tanks.
BTW. I'm also not sure that your main daemon is legal to take in any but friendly games.
(Sometimes I wish they wouldn't give stats or a point cost to a model unless you can take it in a game.)
"No one has a monopoly on wisdom."-S.W.G.
Fluff Master Clan initiate.
"I know not with what weapons World War III will be fought, but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones."-A.E.
"Before you embark on a journey of revenge, dig two graves."-C.
New 40K missions here.
I think the Rubric terminators would still count as Elites. But you could take a bunch of them and 2 squads of horrors as troops.
If you want a small army, try playing smaller games.
That list you posted before, just silly. Every n00b looks for the coolest, 1337est army thay can find with the most killy boss they can make but in they all end up realising that they are rediculous.
