what doesn't kill you can only make you stronger, just look what the warp did to us
Hey!You seem to always type this into your bottom post. If you want it in your signature, then press the "User CP" button at the top left of the screen. Then in the left collum their's a signature button. Click it and then there should be a little box to type in your signature press save and you should be good to go!what doesn't kill you can only make you stronger, just look what the warp did to usI'd take out Chainfist for a better weapon because with the fist, he'll always be striking last which isn't good. Also, I'd switch out the Combi-Melta for a bolt pistol for the extra attack. Your prince is lacking an inv. save. Armour isn't neccesary, so I'd replace it with D. Aura.Daemon prince
Combi-meltaYour champ doens't need D. Resilence because he has a whole squad of Terminators protecting him. He doesn't need D. Strength as much either because he's got the Chainfist, but if you really want that strength 10 then it's fine. From taking out resilence and/or Strength, you get some pts to use. I'd add D. Mutation for an extra attack or you could just keep him plain with just the Chainfist.Terminator champion(1xcombi bolter)
mark of chaos undivided
On your troop squads, stick with just Bolters or Bolt Pistols per squad. It just makes it more simple and you want your marines to either be shooting or in CC. In this case, shooting so give em' all bolters unless they will be in CC.
Another thing to consider is adding in an AC with a powerfist incase they get caught in CC.Downgrade the Lascannon because your gonna be wanting to shoot the Battle Cannon, not the Lascannon. Also, giving it indirect fire and sticking it behind cover is a good idea too.Defiler
Twin linked lascannonIf you have the pts, then giving him a missle launcher to complement his lascannon could help. Also, smoke and extra armour might help.Dreadnought
twin linked lascannon
You could get some pts for making some of the changes mentioned by trimming down your Daemon Prince and taking out a Terminator.
You don't need Essence on this guy. How many wounds do you really think he needs?Originally Posted by Ahradon the diminisher
The Chainfist will only get him killed. Striking last is bad, very bad for an IC. He needs a regular Powerweapon, or else the Darkblade. The Combi-melta should be dropped as well - it's far to expensive for what it gives you, and it also takes away a near free attack for your Lord.I'm not sure if you did or not, since I didn't bother to double check your points, but if the Champion has the MoCU, then the entire squad has to take it as well. Drop resilience on him as well. Majority toughness rules will make it a waste of points. Drop the Combi-melta on the one terminator and take a second Autocannon - it'll actually kill more tanks over all than the melta will.Originally Posted by Ahradon the diminisher
Oblits are fine, but I'd try to find a way to fit the third in there.Inferno bolts can't be combined with Combi-weapons other than the standard Combi-bolter. Why bother with the Combi-melta anyways? You have a very expensive psyker power - use it every round. Give him a Powefist instead of the combi-melta. Also, he can't have grenades, as he has Terminator armour.Originally Posted by Ahradon the diminisherDon't mix and match your heavy/assault weapons. If you want a Heavy bolter, leave it at that and give the marines Bolters to go along with it, since they complement. If you want Plasmaguns, take two and again, use bolters.Originally Posted by Ahradon the diminisherPlasma Pistols are trash. Use meltaguns instead. Everything for squad 1 applies here, as well.Originally Posted by Ahradon the diminisherRepeated for effect.Originally Posted by Ahradon the diminisherSlightly better, though if it worth taking one, then it is worth taking two.Originally Posted by Ahradon the diminisherPlasmaguns aren't a good choice for Raptors. They're far too expensive to lose to over heats. They belong in Close Combat, where they can tie up Heavy Support options and maybe crack a few tanks along the way. The Champion needs to have a Power weapon of some sort as well, so they can actually stand to kill something in Close Combat.Originally Posted by Ahradon the diminisherGood, though could stand to have Daemonic Possession.Originally Posted by Ahradon the diminisherDrop the Lascannon and replace with Indirect Fire. You buy a Defiler for the Battle Cannon, not the lascannon upgrade.Originally Posted by Ahradon the diminisherDrop the Lascannon. If you want a TLLC, buy a Predator. It's more survivable, and can bring other weapons to bear, for all about the same price. A twinlinked Autocannon is a much better buy for your points, as is a Heavy Bolter.Originally Posted by Ahradon the diminisher
from what I've learnt from others and what I am going to do with my raptors, the essentials are:
-6-8 man squad, more is too cumbersom(sp) and less is suicide squad
-when you drop one, if you are going to change to an 8 man squad, use the other points to get furious charge on everyone
-use 2-3 melta guns, flamers arent all that great and plasmas have the obvious... umm.. mishaps
-D.strength and power weapon for the AC and you shouldn't need the melta bombs with the melta guns in the squad, he also already has krak grenades.
hope this was of some help
just worked it out.
-Aspiring Champ w/ D.strength, power weapon and furious charge
--4 raptors w/ bolt pistols and close combat weapons, furios charge
---3 raptors w/ melta guns, furious charge
Powerfist's work well too because the AC is in a squad.-D.strength and power weapon for the AC and you shouldn't need the melta bombs with the melta guns in the squad, he also already has krak grenades.
Valid point but do you need it with all the meltas? Maybe its just me but a faster daemon prince would be better, with either flight or D.speed. You can still sit back and shoot but he will also be able to keep pace with and assist the raptors in an offensive or counter-attack.
D.Aura in my opinion will get you further than the termi armour. because you can take flight and speed.
up to you but I think that would be best. If you want him to shoot, consider giving him a power weapon and kai gun. if you want him to assault, a normal bp and a dark blade will be perfect.
New edited Chaos undivided (2000 pts)
Here’s a few additions to what’s already been said.
Troops: 2 squads of BP and 2 with Bolters is good. I’d make BP squads larger though, as they need to Assault, and will therefore be in your opponent’s face. With assault CSMs use Flamers and Meltaguns. Some Infiltrate is handy. Think about Aspirings for any assault CSM squads, and give at least 1 a Teleport Homer, for your Terminators, and maybe even the Obliterators.
Raptors: depends on exactly what you’re intending to do with them. If they’re mainly for Assaulting, then Meltaguns take away from their close combat power, and they should have Furious Charge. If they’re general purpose, maybe 7 will do, with 3 Meltaguns. Regardless, the Aspiring needs to have a decent combat weapon – PW or PF. If PF he doesn’t need D.Strength. Meltabombs are fine with a PW. Infiltrate goes well with Raptors.
Why use the 1000 Sons? They are slow and can’t be upgraded. If you want a sorcerer why not use an Lt. tooled up for the job, with one of your assault CSM troops.
Definitely get a third Obliterator.
A great defensive combination for Dreads and Predators is Parasitic Possession and Extra Armour. Also I would give all your vehicles Smoke, just in case.
Terminators: lose the Champ, he’s too expensive. Get another Reaper. Out of interest Nurgle Termies are awesome: Fearless, True Grit and D.Resilience, all for 5pts each! True Grit means each Terminator has 3 attacks, even when they are assaulted.
Lord: lose D.Essence, and the Combi-Melta. You can keep the Fist, as you can always attack without using it. It is great anti-vehicle though. Consider D.Visage. If you want Sorcerers, forget the Bolter and make him one too.
Just forget Combi-weapons all round.
Hope this helps
OK after having a read of some of the recent replies i have made a few changes to the army list. I had to change my obliterators choice because i didnt realise iron warriors could only have more than 1 squad of them.
Each accompanied by a retinue of 5 terminators each.
Each squad has 5 terminators
+1xreaper autocannon(in each)
+3xpowerr fist(in each)
Each squad is 233 pts in total (not including the HQs)
3 obliterators(1 squad) 210 pts
4 squads of 9 troops
each squad has 9 troops
+1xheavy bolter(in each)
Each squad = 131 pts
+havoc launcher upgrade
+Twin linked lascannon
+Turret mounted Autocannon
+Lascannon side sponsors
What do ya think now.......

What!:w00t: no raptors? Oh well, your choice. Well you have taken two oblit cults which leads me to think you are going Iron Warriors, s you have 4 heavy slots. I think if you could make the points you should try a havoc squad with autocannons. As it is at the mome, it should go well except I'd mabe look at giving one or two of the marines squads an autocannon.
All up to you, but it looks better now:yes:
