OK, not sure if this guy is legal or not, I don't have my codex on me to count up the points exactly, but you seem to be right against the limit on max daemonic gifts. what I will say without doubt, is that he's way too many points.Originally Posted by Chaosgod
sorcerer & doombolt is a lot of points to pay for a decent shooting attack, wich cannot be used in conjunction with your plasma pistol. I'd drop they sorcery personally but to keep them both is a waste of points.
Daemonic armor is not as usefull as it looks: most attacks you would worry about are going to cut through armor anyway.
Dropping those suggestions will lower your cost by ~45pts and not loose a bit of effectiveness. This squad is fine, except the aspiring champion is overtooled:Originally Posted by Chaosgod
First off any defensive tooling on an Aspiring champion is a waste of points: he's not going to get hit untill he runs out out squad to protect him, once he does, those defensive abilities are not going to help him enough for it to make a difference. So this also applies to your other Aspiring Champions: forget armor, arua, resielience, & Bionics on the Aspiring Champions they are all without exception a waste of points.
After that I reccomend just keeping the Aspiring champion of the shooting squad basic, he's more of a backup device, rather than a mainstay CC monster. You'd be served just fine by just giving him a powerfist and calling it good.Except the comment I said earlier about defensive gifts on AC's, There is nothing really wrong with this squad except I don't think that plasma pistols are an option for standard Chaos Space Marines as a special weapon, I could be mistaken however I don't have my codex with me at work.edited in: I looked it up, yup they're in there. I don't see people using them as melta guns are the same price, same range still assault, and can crack tanks in addition to heavy infantry, and don't overheat. You do give up 2 attacks in the mix tho. . . Most players use melta-guns here in the same role.Originally Posted by ChaosgodAgain this is way too expensive, too many upgrades. You could have 2 predators for this cost, and double the firepower, and more survivablility than what your upgrades give you.Originally Posted by Chaosgod
The Havok Launcher isn't really the best upgrade for an anti-tank tank, but other than that none of the upgrades are bad, but you really need to cut it down to a few at most.
Overall just be wary of upgrading stuff too much, each upgrade is good, but it's easy to put too many points into a few models, and then they are easily killed leaving you with nothing left to fight with.

Votewar MKV 2nd place. . .
Back from internet limbo, and glad to be here.
If you can try and drop your army back to 1000 points. Conventional game sizes are:
These are the kinds of limits at tournaments so its best to try and stick to them. This can be started right away with making your lord cheaper. Drop the entire sorceror thing and maybe the melta-bombs. You have strength 7 so with all those attacks so unless you're going up against a land raider in 1000 points (not likely) then they wont be needed. Maybe keep the bombs but drop daemonic strength. That would probably be better since you wound MEQ's on a 2+ anyway. Also speed is slightly better than flight as it gives fleet. Flight however looks cool if you want t o model it.
Ok its clear that you are just maxing everything. Drop a few things and get to 1000 points. The champs and Lord can lose some things to bring it down. Also dont dedicate your predator to nurgle as nurgles rot will burn your own troops. Leave it undedicated if you want. If not slaanesh or Tzeentch will probably be best.
All my suggestions for expanding are in the other thread. Have fun with 40k.
