    Ec 2000

    Ok, here is my go at 2k EC, with 13 bikes.


    Chaos Lord-211
    -Mark of Slaannesh
    -Chaos bike/with a sonic blaster

    -Frag and Krak Grenades (I know krak suck, but with strength 8 on the charge an extra d6 is plenty)

    Ok... So here are the problems I see.

    My Tactics: All the 3 infiltrating units set up on one flank, and the 13 bikes sete up on the other, hopefully behind some terrian so if I don't get first turn they won't get complettely wiped out. The Havocs set up where they have a good line of site and won't get massacred by lascannons, or plasma. Turn one my bikes zip turbo boost hopefully behind terrain, and my infiltrating units advance foward. (Hopefully giving the enemy to many scary targets.) 2nd turn 0-3 units of daemonettes turn up and I basically charge in like a lunatic noob.

    Hey there Dancing_Donut. The way I would remedy your overage of points and anti-tank problem would be to drop your Chosen biker squad and take another squad of 6 bikes with the aspiring champ and a two meltas for anti tank that still puts you under the points. The bikes are already really tough and pretty beatstick in CC, unless you are really set on having the squad of chosen they are really pricy. Since any unit bearing a mark of chaos can have an icon for free(pg 12 chaos codex) give your bikes chaos icons so you have 3 different summoning points. You could put a special icon on your lord and keep him close, but not a part of the unit so he can't get shot up.

    If you're still concerned about tanks, replace the powerweapons with powerfists on your CSM squads.

    Heck, perhaps even another squad of daemonettes instead of a CSM squad since you already have enough starting squads you won't be in danger of not being able to bring your daemons in. Once they start coming in, keep em comin!

    Thanks theyack. I edited my list according to your corrections. Leaving me 14 points under. Any ideas??? (I also realised that I had a typo the 3rd unit of daemonettes should have only been 6, not 9)

    Ah yes... I would suggest getting rid of krak grenades(since you declared them pretty useless yourself) and buy one more daemonette bringing that squad up to an even 10. ( ah oops, I wasn't reading carefully) that would bring the total to 7, I know its not a favored number but you already have two squads coming in with favored numbers.

    An alternative would be to buy the extra wound on the Lord with resilliance.


    This should put you under by 1 point!

    lol, I was editting my post as you posted that.

    How about upgrading the krak grenades to melta bombs, and giving my two biker sergeants melta bombs as well?? Or should I give 3 sets to the infiltrating squads??

    HAH! I suspected as much... for some reason

    Melta on the lord is a bit of a waste. Lords are best served in specialist roles. With this lord you have him kitted out to take out troops very very well, 6 attacks at str8 power weaponed at initiative 5(effectively 7 with warp scream and furious charge) he's excellent at killing marines, terminators, and anything else pretty much. that's what he's been specialized to do, but let's say you give him a melta bomb now, you're talking about attacking a tank(which probably moved) hitting on 4+ or 6+ if you're lucky, with 1 attack. All those cool upgrades are now worthless, AND unless its a dreadnaught(which you should be using your darkblade against anyways) you are dangling in the wind to be shot up. At strength 8 on the charge, if you HAVE to use your HQ to down a tank USE THE DARKBLADE. more attacks = more chances to do something.

    giving them to the CSM squad isn't a bad idea, remember,if you give it to one guy in the squad you have to buy it for them all, unless its just one for a sergant. but then, that's not very efficient, relying on one lucky shot that might miss is risky.

    another choice would be to give meltas to all in a biker squad. after their summoning duties have been fulfilled bikes are excellent at zipping across to the tank that didn't move and blow it up. The risk here is, when you oponent realizes that you're D. bombing him your bikers will be really big fire magnets, and you might not have much of a biker force left to do this with.

    Correct me if I'm wrong... But can't you only have 2 meltas in a squad of bikes?? or did you mean melta bombs?? How about dropping the krak grenades, and giving doom sirens to each of the asp champs of the bike squads.

    You are correct you can only have 2 meltas mounted on bikes per squad. I was referring to meltabombs.

    If I remember right, one of the Doom Siren's functions was to allow you to strike first in CC no matter what. That sounds awesome to me, go for it.
