    Thousand sons help?!

    hello everyone, ill try to keep this short, so plz bare with me reading through , i could use some imput from experienced 1ksons players on what the strengths and weaknesses of the army are..

    you see, im not an inexperienced gamer, i usually play as fast & close combat orientated marines or nids, as IMO a specialised close combat army will beat a inexperienced shooty army 99% of the time...

    so looking at the chaos codex, im inlove with the background of the sons, but all i see is a highly expensive, slow & averagely shooty army...

    ok so

    1. they have bolt of change and thralls, but is a few sorcerers with these enough to win you a battle??
    2. yea, the automatons have 2 wounds, but at 24 points each? and with a crumby bolter alone? it doesnt even seem relevent of slow & purposeful as it'd take them forever to move within 12" for the rapid fire rule & even then a decent general would assault them...
    3. anti tank? do they have anything useful that im missing?
    4.what about transports, i always take rhinos for my marines, is it worth it with sons? doesnt seem that way, essp if you count room for the thralls?

    please, any ideas?, as i imagine id be hammered by a tournament marine or eldar army..

    Yeah it should probably in normal Chaos. Oh well, nevermind.

    Apart from the tanks I dont think they have any decent anti-tank units. But do you really need them, as 2 preds could take out a lot of tanks.

    The lord of change with bolt of change can tear open quite a few tanks. Read the 1K sons tactica and prehaps ask some specific questions or post a list. I'm sure the more experienced 1K sons players here will impart some wisdom.
