Hello fellow servants of the Dark Gods
I'm new to the hobby, but it's always really interested me, and I hope to buy a small Emperor's Children army and start gaming with it, provided my summer allows for it.
Hope I calculated all of this correctly:
Chaos Lt. (Total: 96 pts)
Mark of Slaanesh
Assaulty Squad (Total: 142 pts.)
6 Noise Marines w/ pistols and ccws
Free Asp. Champ equipped with: p. weapon, d. strength
Shooty Squad (Total: 172)
8 Noise Marines
2 Sonic Blasters
6 Daemonettes (Total: 90 pts.)
Total: 500 pts.
Total Models: 21
Since this is just 500 pts., I figured I should keep my Lt. as cheap as possible so I could cram in extra models. I kinda miss some wargear though. Would it be worth it to drop one Marine to give my Lt. a Personal Icon?
An 8 man shooty squad is rather un-Slaaneshi (more so since it's Khorne's sacred number<_< ) but I figured it would be better to have more Marines rather than make sacrifices for the sake of fluff. Keeping in mind what I've read on the main Chaos board regarding sonic blasters, I decided to go with only two.
Any comments or criticisms are welcome.
BTW, quick rule question: when my Daemon unit becomes available, am I required to summon it, or can I choose when to bring it in?
Kryptik, welcome to LO, and welcome to the Chaos section. The mighty Chaos section, where bearded men are brought to tears with humbleness.
Jeepers, I reckon that's a damn nice list for 500 pts and your alledged first time. :shifty: Nice one.
Hmm.. not much I'd change on that to be honest. Maybe, just Maybe Speed on the Lord somehow, that way, he can be a total threat on his own
Also, maybe drop 1 sonic blaster and take ANOTHER blast master on the shooty squad?
Rules: Daemons MUST be placed as soon as they become available, for better or worse.
Really nice list of the "best god"
I will try to field 3 Sonic Blasters in 8 nem squad.
But realy nice. I like this list. I like Slaanesh way of fightng.
Only one bad thing is expensive troops.I don't think, you are able to field 2 Blast Masters in one unit of regular Noise Marines. Blast master is heavy weapon upgrade (instead autocannon for Noise CMs).Originally Posted by Karmoon
But Blast Master could be in the Assault squad. If someone field more tanks.
Have a nice day :w00t:
... try Czech language ;-)
Y'see that's what I meant to say. But i'm clinically stupid, and i need some sleep.Originally Posted by Ota
meh, just listen to everyone else from now on. And good luck
Actually, I've been reading up on Chaos and Emperor's Children for some time, so that when I made my list, it would be nice, sparkly, and perfect, just the way the Dark Prince would have wanted it to be
In regards to my Lt., I was thinking that he could switch out infiltrate for D. Speed whenever I play a mission that doesn't allow Infiltrate. But, I suppose if he becomes even more dangerous with Speed, it might be worth sacrificing one marine.
As for a second blastmaster in the assaulty squad, that would mean sacrificing another marine (or a Doom Siren). But, I suppose if the blastmaster is as nasty as everyone says it is, it might be worth it.
Two more quick questions:
1. Will there ever be a situation or opponent where it would be advisable to use another heavy weapon in place of the blastmaster?
2. Anyone know if there's a sprue or boxed set with lots of chainswords and pistols? Cause, I don't know where I'm gonna get the ccws to outfit my assaulty squad with
1: Against MEQs (Marine Equivelants) you really need something to punch through that armour - plasma guns and melta guns are very popular.
Missile launchers also, if you take devastators. I know it's not heavy, but you get my meaning.
2: eerm.. the standard Chaos box set comes with a nice mix.. althoug I've found mixing with loyalist and other sets breeds some imtersting results.
How about the Blood Claws boxed set? The picture on the front shows a whole bunch of guys with swords and pistols, that must mean there are plenty of swords and pistols inside
Indeed is does. You could try it, just remember to remove any imperial insignias and the like. Try bitparting it or something. That's the great thing about Chaos, the options are endless.
Okay, after some editing and deliberating, I have made a new list:
Mark of Slaanesh
6 Noise Marines w/ ccws and pistols
Free Asp. Champ w/: P. Weapon, D. Strength
Free Unit Icon
6 Noise Marines
Free Asp. Champ w/ Combi-bolter
2 Sonic Blasters
Free Unit Icon
Total: 90 pts.
Total Overall: 500
Total Models: 19
Lt. is now very expensive, but can get into CC faster and has some anti-tank capability (if the need should arise).
CC squad does not have blastmaster unless I drop speed maybe. I'll probably make a second list with no infiltrate for non-infiltrate missions.
Shooty Squad has been armed to the teeth. Free Asp. Champ gets a combi-bolter; not much, but he can at least re-roll shots, and the extra attack will help in an emergency CC. Plasma gun for melting MEQs, maybe replaced with a Doom Siren in the CC squad when the situation calls for it.
Yet another question: when paying for veteran skills for units, that's x points per unit? or per
model? If it's per model, the above list will be correct.
I like the 2nd list better just because it has all 6 man squads. But im one of those people who would talke a slightly less effective list beacuse of fluff.
Your shooty squad is outfited just as i outfit mine. I however give my Aspiring champion one of the sonic blaster. That way you have your sonic blaster and the +1 attack on the same guy.
In your squad Once you lose one model from there on out you must make a choicewhen you fail and armor save. you must ether lose Extra attack and combi-bolter or a special weapon.
Putting the sonic blaster on the AC gives you 2 guys that you are completely ok to let go before you begin to effect the overall effectivness of the unit.
Same pricipal as putting reaper autocannon and power fist on the same termi.
Also in small games leadership plays a more vital roll (orks cant mob check, alot of people skimp on upgraded leaders for squads) so D. visage for you close combat champion or lt. would be a good idea. But you would have to free up 2-4 points. Also pinning with the blastmaster owns. I probably would actualy go back to the way you had the lt before and get a blastmaster and D. Visage if you can afford it.
