Please send message to me because I cannot get on to the Chaos army list section.
Tommy, I must admit that i'm not convinced with the list, but i think it has plenty of good element which you should build on.
I don't think a statured Lord is particularly fluffy for a Nightlord army, but each to their own . I would replace armour with aura, and replace flight with speed. He's a bit of a beast in CC, so drop sorceror and WOC and instead try Mutation, spikey bits and an extra CC weapon.
IF you have the points consider furious charge. And bang, you have one sick sick CC puppy
Lieutenant - i like this. A bike lieutenant is cool. If he's WOC he shouldn't have a plasma gun. You don't want to melt your own leiutenant. If you can, L claws on this guy. The bike/L.claws combo is pretty cheeky. Drop melta bombs - this guy shouldn't be attacking machinery,
Bikes - uuh.. a bit hit and miss.. you have a decent number, but if they're your dedicated tank hunters, they should really have melta guns instead of plasmas. they're expensive enough not to melt themselves. Melta bombs on the AC should be taken off in place of a melta gun on his bike.
Furies - excellent. No problems. Furies will serve you well.
Raptors - pump up to 8 and i think you have a nice squad. The AC is a bit expensive, but deadly.
Predator - drop dirge, drop mutated hull. Take daemonic possession instead.
3 oblits - take this AND the predator. Obliterators are amazing, and predators are really reliable (in my experience anyway). I like the TLLC H.BOLT combo. Move and shoot baby.
I can see the model you're using for your ACs now .
But i really wouldn't recommend a combi melta for them. Give them a bolt pistol instead. Simply and an extra powerfist attack. Melta bomb must be dropped to - your power fist will give your more attacks.
Your troop choices aren't bad, but they could be better i think. For example, you could potentially give one squad a heavy bolter incase of hordes. You could also give one squad two melta guns to make them your dedicated assault unit. - your choice.
The thing about the list is that it has a lot of really expensive blocks of units. Both bikes and raptors are very expensive and even at 1850, i'd only really use 1. So, you could consider dropping 1 to really filling out the other and your troops a little more
Hope that helped.
Yeah, I agree with much of Karmoon's input. Sometimes less is more. I prefer more CSMs in my army, but that's personal style.
If the lord has stature (which I never do), then give him the dread axe. He'll bust open vehicles like a can opener. Likewise, if he is normal, give him the dark blade.
A lightning claw on the biker LT would be pretty cool! It would look great, too! But a power weapon is cheaper, so its up to you.
The bikes.... go all melta to maximize the usefulness of their tank hunter skill. Otherwise you are spreading out their abilities too much.
Raptors tend to take casualties quite often. Bump them up to at least 7. The champ might be too expensive, given the survivability issue w/ raptors. If you use them correctly, they can really wreak some havoc, but one mistake and they evaporate. Dual l.claws on an AC is awesome, but super expensive. That's a lot of points you can put somewhere else. Drop the flamer unless you are fighting 'Nids or Orcs, or have a VERY specific use for them. Usually they are useless, despite the mobility of raptors, esp w/ hit and run.
I think the furies go well w/ Night Lords. :shifty:
1st- Both of you make good points and I will have to change some things.
2nd- The Lt would follow along with the Bike squad but will only join them if he needs to. I thought bike mounted Plasma guns did not have to worry about hurting the rider since they are mounted on the bike. Plus with tank hunter skill they have a good chance to take out armoured vehicles as well as giving troops a hard time.
3rd- The troops squad were going to sit back with their Las cannons and support the Fast Attack units. If anyone got to close they would have to deal with Plasma guns and the lords combi melta or power fist.
4th- As for the pred or Obliterators I couldn't decide between the two, who would better support my Fast Attack squads or the rest of my Army for that matter.
Thanks for the advice!
2nd point - unfortunately, the plasma is counted as being held by the rider - so i've heard. So that means they can still melt themselves.
Tank hunters and plasmas are indeed a very good combo, but bikes are fragile and in the thick of it, so likely to attract a lot fire. With plasmas they can deal with light vehicles, but with meltas, the tank hunter can help against land raiders and all sorts.
3rd point - Fire support is a great and clever idea. However, LOS and the like might make them a little redundant. They can't help the fast troops if they're locked in CC.
The powerfist to guard against CC is brilliant also, but an extra weapon and an extra attack will really help. If you want a melta in the squad, then give them a melta gun.
4th - I'd have to say obliterator are probably better. but seriously, both will do you proud.
