This is but a thought...
2 Champs (of which 1 is free)
2 Bolt of Change
9 Rubric Terminators
Bolt of Change
Chainfist (keeping the PowerWeapon)
9 Rubric Terminators
Chainfist (Keeping the PowerWeapon)
Not really sure how it would fare, as I've never tried anything like it. It sure would be fun to try though...
It contains some serious shooting power, The flamers are awsome and the Chosen should be able to tackle any tank in the game (sure the Monolith is a problem, but then again it nearly always is) The Rubrics will be able to take some serious beating and dish out quite some pain. The Lt will just stay behind the cover of one of the units and add some anti-personel fire.
As far as Close combat goes all those Powerweapons should be able to ake care of most opponents, especially in the MEQ-field. Hordes like Orks and Nids is another matter, hopefully the Bolters can take their toll before CC occurs.
It mighht be worth to drop the Thralls/swap the spells on the Rubric squads to make them more Deepstrikable. But I chose to let them start on the table as it adds some weight in the early game.
i doubt it would fair well against much. that being said nice list. only able too tackle two falcons/waveserpant a turn is a bit on the low side of anti tank. granted youve got some staying power against a fair few army builds. just picture as i am the amount of vp's an opponent who downs the chosen squad recieves, yeah its heineous! i feel sorry for the speed freak army that goes against you. a comparable 2000 point deathwing army blows you away though on assault cannons. i like the idea alot. i think you may have an easier time with three rubric terminator squads with bolt of change in each and the flamers and one squad of screamers. i actualy had a rather dissapointing showing with doombolt today in a chosen squad in acombat patrol tournament. i think turning that chosen squad into a rubric term squad gives you enough points to add a screamer squad that could serve you very well. admittedly this suggestion drops your ability to handle av 14 quite a bit, but it certainly serves to add more flexibility. in fact you may also be able to add bolt of change to your lieutenant and some thralls with this swap. i just dont see the chosen as being worth the near the almost 600 point mark in anyway shape or form.
my rambling, ambling .02$
Dustwing is soooooo hot. Gimmic power!
All your chosen count as sorcerors (not just the champs) so you should consider giving more of them spells. Additionally, you should consider dropping their squad size. I know, I know, 9 is magic number etc, but on the chosen it is a overpriced/underproduction number. BUT if you do want 9, throw on a third reaper autocannon maybe???????
Rubric termies are fine at 9 just to be fat units.
Ruthlessness is the mercy of the wise.
looks pretty cool.
I assume the chosen are termies, but if you want the bolt of change and free champs, etc. then you have to drop off the tank hunters.
Like purple40k said, you could just drop the champs in the chosen unit if they are just there to get the powers, they can take the powers even if they are regular chosen. No thralls, but then you could just deepstrike that unit.
Makes for a hot looking conversion army. I just finished my tsons termies, they look so cool.
sorry to get off topic.
filed off the eagle wings and all that false emperor stuff, but kept the skulls in the middle of the chest plates. i left the terminator honour shoulder pad mold, still not sure if ill take those off.
junked my ahriman model for parts(im never gonna play him anyways). added some horns for tuskes on the champ. put all those little herd skull talismans on them to make them more chaosy. in place of the banner on the champ, i used the top of ahrimans staff to represent the icon.
I had to order a variety of power swords. Then I made a reaper autocannon out of the heavy flamer, turned out a little less bulky than i wanted, but still looks like the metal chaos termie reaper, plus i put a chainfist chainsaw on it to make it more chaosy.
i sawed of the headdress of some extra tsons heads, then cut a little of the terminator armour chasis above the head to make a little room for the headdress and glued it directly on the termie head. a little green stuff to fill in the spaces.
they look pretty cool, but im not sure on the colour scheme to make them pop out. any suggestions?
sorry again to get off topic.
This is on the GW UK site, I doubt you'll want to make to many, as the kit for making them is £21.
I sure you could do a simular job for cheaper tho

i yeah, i forgot to mention it earlier...
I don't think you can take tank hunters on those chosen, can you?
p.59 of codex:CSM says
"Units with the Mark of Tzeentch may not take any Veteran skills; in the case of the characters, Sorcery demands their full attention, whereas models with the Rubric Sign are mindless automatons unable to learn."
I believe that this applies to chosen as well, and is meant to prohibit the entire Tzeentch range from using vet skills.
THis has been debated in a long and nice thread. It was long ago though but I'll see if I can find the Link.
Here goes the short version:
As far as I'm aware the sentence you are referring to is found under the "Troops" headline in ook of Tzeentch and if you check the summary in the back the Vet.skill-limitation is mentioned under troops only.
The long version is to be found HERE.
I still admit however to this not being a great list. I'm still pondering.
EDIT: right, right, read throught the old thread. Made my decision.
