Squad 2 192pts

2 CSM w/ Plasma guns
5 CSM w/ Boltguns
All w/ Infiltrate
Havoc Squad 248pts
4 CSM w/ Autocannons
4 CSM w/ Boltguns
All w/ Tank Hunters, Infiltrate
So there you go what do you all think of the list and wot should i do with the points left over??
Mech Tau W-0 D-0 L-0
Mech Tau always outnumbered never out gunned
Well, if all of them have Mark of Chaos Undivided, then I would suggest dropping the infiltrate on the Havocs.
I am not going to tell people to drop the servo arm, as I really like it, even though it is overpriced.
I am glad to see starter lists with emphasis on assault. Good job.
With the points left over, try this for the lieutenant.
Lieutenant, Mark of Chaos Undivided, Bolt Pistol, Daemonic Strength, Darkblade, Daemonic Speed, Frag Grenades/Spiky Bits, Furious Charge.
It would really make someone cry when you suddenly stop the Lieu from leading a squad and charge in over long distance to kill off say, a dread. I have done that before.
[Iron Warriors]
Good starter list! I started IW 2 months ago so I can tell you what has (and hasn't) worked for me at that level.
The servo arm is great for fluff, but unless you really intend on using for healing vehicles than I would swap it for a D. mutation or Spiky bits. I like Malicant's Lt a lot and if you want to cheapen it down some I would drop the Mark. The Lt. only has 2 wounds so if he's taking leadership tests he's already dead.
Oblits look good!
From the looks of it, you will have your lord riding with the rhino squad, so be sure to deploy it behind cover and think about giving it a dozer blade.
Very expensive for a 1k game. I prefer Oblits for their versatility in lower point games, and I think you will get more bang for your buck at this point level. In my games using a six man squad like that I shred the one tank I can see, and spend the rest of the game not penetrating power armor.
Against power armor they are just so-so. They will have volume of fire which is good vs 3 or 2+ saves and you really can't do much better unless you take MLs, Las or Plasma, and all have their drawbacks in Havocs (Plasma is death to your MEQs and range, Las is freakin expensive, and MLs don't do as good against skimmers and other armor that's not AV 14).
However, against 4+ or higher saves (GEQ, hordes) you will love these guys. Hitting on 3s and wounding on 2s against MEQ or GEQ is awesome, when they don't get an armor save... priceless.
Just a little pimp for the Havocs. There are other armies besides Marines.
Of course, for their price you could have 3 oblits and change. 3 Oblits will have 6 Autocannon shots vs 8, but they can also drop 12 HB shots or 3 las shots... Damn, I love oblits... I may have to re look my 1k tourney list, but for some reason I smell cheese...
