Hey This is my list
Mark of Tzeentch, Disc of Tzeentch, Dark Blade, Daemonic Aura, CCW
Squad A (163)
5 Rubric Marines with upgraded Aspiring Champion, Bolt of Change
Squad B (220)
5 Rubric Marines with upgraded Aspiring Champion, Wind of Chaos, Powerfist, Daemonic Visage, Rhino Transport
Twin-linked Lascannons, Heavy Bolter Side Sponsons
i thought that this is a rather mobile force for Thousand sons, as the lieutenant can fly due to the disc and kill troops, the Rhino squad can move quickly and the predator can move and fire all its guns. What do you think about this list??
Strength is knowing your weakness
THIS IS SPARTA!
Overall it looks great, 750 points, as you probably found, is very limited especially for Thousand Sons. Other than that, my only real comment is that
But I don't want to force you to cut that, I guess it could make sense to put it on your pred, I just feel like if the pred is tank hunting then it's wasting its HB sponsons.
Back from the dead to haunt new houses.
Send me a hello if you remember me.
Well, I'm no expert, but I'd think about dropping the dreadnought and beefing up the troop squads some, though I could be wrong, I'm not sure how much the game changes in 750.
"If you can wait til I get home, then I swear we can make this last."
personally, I'm with the above two opinions. I've noticed that the general consensus about predetors in 1ksons lists are: 1AC, 2las, and demon possessed, I've been using this config since I started playing 40k (1ksons is my first army), and it works very well, plus, your troops are already geared for shooting at troops.
about the dreadnaught, in 750 pts, I can see two vehicles as being redundant. If you are willing to cut it, I would put WoC on the Lt, as it can seriously up his stomping power before charging into CC. another thing about the Lt, he isn't legal, the disc counts as demonic gifts, as does the dark blade, therefore he is X points over the limit, if you want to keep these gifts, you will have to upgrade to a lord. but take heart that it's not that many more points.
if you do in fact drop the dread, you may want to up the number of rubrics in each squad. another thing you may want to consider is thrall wizards. for their points cost, these guys are a bargain, as each one can (depending on the power) cause several more wounds. and a Pfist in the foot sloggin squad is still a must for all 1ksons asp champs. as without, they are dead come any assault troops that come your way.
Ok, all good input thusfar. I'm really sorry, I don't have my codex so bear with this advice if it adds up way too much!
I would say this:
Drop the dread, although I love them, they can be a bit inefficient when compared to the pred. Definately daemonic possession on the pred.
With those points, give 2 more sons to the rhino squad, a familiar and bolt of change, no visage.
At this point I would say modest Lieutenant: power sword, pistol, strength. More goodies if you have the points.
Smoke and extra armour on the rhino, those should be stock every time (for 8 points!)
With the rest (40ish points hopefully) for sure put in thralls. Just remember that only 3 will fit into a rhino with 7 sons in it. Thralls are insane. If the rhino doesnt blow smoke, your champ can double tap the bolt of change out of there, or even wind of chaos if he gets close enough (template placed from the top hatch!). Nothing like piling out of a tin can rhino to wind some termies with your base unit squad and wipe them out.
750 points is very difficult to write for tsons, you're doing a great job. Hope this helps.
