Iron Warriors themed Lost and the Damned - Tournament/friendly.

Hi all, im starting a new themed army for possible tournament play but mostly friendly play. I'm going around the theme of a lost and the damned force led by an arch heretic who is actually the brass thief (from ravenor books). It will be all machines and cogs, very techy and almost steampunk. There will be a few iron warriors marines but mostly traitor guard and mutants that are half machine. Im more about theme and modelling than winning but i want it to have some effectiveness. Any help would be appreciated.
    Heres the list:

    Arch Heretic [140]
Chaos Lieutenant - THE BRASS THEIF
    Daemonic Speed
    Daemonic Strength
    Daemonic Armour
Rhyming Swords - Pair of Lightning Claws
    Daemonic Aura
    Mark of Chaos Undivided

    Aspiring Champion [89]
    Bolt Pistol
    Master-crafted Power Weapon
    Daemonic Strength
    Servo-arm
    Frag-grenades

    Obliterators [140]
    2 of them

    Mutants [135]
    15 Mutants
    Burly x15

    Mutants [90]

    Traitors [70]
    5 Traitors
    Lascannon
    Agitator

    Traitors [60]
    5 Traitors
    Heav Bolter
    Agitator

    Traitors [65]
    5 Traitors
    Autocannon
    Agitator

Allied Chaos Space Marine Squad [156]
    7 Chaos Marines
    2 Plasma Guns
    Aspiring Champion
    Kai Gun

    Traitor Hellhound [120]
    Dozer Blade

    Defiler [150]

    Traitor Leman Russ [160]
    Hull-mounted Heavy Bolter
    Sponson Heavy Bolters
    Dozer Blade

    Traitor Basilisk [125]
    Indirect Fire

    Comes to 1500 points exactly.

Hey there Inquisitor Earl! Welcome to LO!

Lemme have a look at your list. I'm going to go over it in purely a tactical sense. But i don't want to encroach on your fluff ideals, so feel free to ignore my advise as you see fit... everyone else does anyway! WHY GOD?WHY? *cries*

    Arch Heretic [140]
Chaos Lieutenant - THE BRASS THEIF
    Daemonic Speed
    Daemonic Strength
    Daemonic Armour
Rhyming Swords - Pair of Lightning Claws
    Daemonic Aura
    Mark of Chaos Undivided
Ok.. good lieutenant set up , unfortunately, he's illegal because he exceeds his daemonic gift quota by 10 points.

But this is a blessing in disguise, as it gives us a chance to get rid of daemon armour. A 2+ is nice, but essentially useless - as the greatest threats to him will come from power weapons and AP2 weaponry anyway.

Replace this with daemonic resilience, and he'll be legal and better in CC. Use his IC status to protect him against shooting attacks.

    Aspiring Champion [89]
    Bolt Pistol
    Master-crafted Power Weapon
    Daemonic Strength
    Servo-arm
    Frag-grenades
Ok.. master crafted is fluffy, but essentially it's useless because it's made redundant by a) spikey bits and b) daemonic mutation.
Spikey bits is cheaper, and mutation is cheaper AND gives you an extra attack rather than just a reroll.
I would consider giving him a mark of Khorne also, in order to make use of more of his hidden attacks.

It's a shame he can't have a power fist AND a servo arm. But otherwise - pretty good.

    Obliterators [140]
    2 of them

    Mutants [135]
    15 Mutants
    Burly x15

    Mutants [90]
    All fine.

    Traitors [70]
    5 Traitors
    Lascannon
    Agitator

    Traitors [60]
    5 Traitors
    Heav Bolter
    Agitator

    Traitors [65]
    5 Traitors
    Autocannon
    Agitator
once again fine. If possible, i'd try to bump up their squad number 6, althouth this isn't too important as they're going to runaway after being shot ay anyway.

Allied Chaos Space Marine Squad [156]
    7 Chaos Marines
    2 Plasma Guns
    Aspiring Champion
    Kai Gun
Been a while since I've seen a daemon weapon on an aspiring champion - but it kinda fits, so fair enough.

Once more, even number tend to be better, and will have more of an effect on this squad as they have good leadership.

    Traitor Hellhound [120]
    Dozer Blade

    Defiler [150]

    Traitor Leman Russ [160]
    Hull-mounted Heavy Bolter
    Sponson Heavy Bolters
    Dozer Blade

    Traitor Basilisk [125]
    Indirect Fire
The rest of the list looks absolutely fine to me. It's a shame the defiler can't get indirect fire also.

The list looks pretty fun to use - it's well crafted.

    Good luck

Thanks for the advice. I have given the lieutenant daemonic resilience. Have also removed the master crafting and given the champion daemonic mutation. I have also added another marine to the squad.

I have the feeling i should lose the servo arm and give a mutant squad a boss with a power fist. Its just the servo arm fits my fluff and looks really cool on the model.

Overall im pretty happy with this list, especially as its my first ever chaos list. I just couldn't resist the lure of chaos. The modelling potential is the main draw. Maybe youll see this army in a white dwarf one day, thats my aim

    Cheers, Inquisitor Earl.
