Hey all, I'm finally finishing up assembling my word bearers and will probably get started playing with them in some 1000pt games. Here's the list I came up with:
1000pt WORD BEARERS
Dark Apostle (LT profile)
-Mark Of Chaos Undivided
8 x CSM (go with Dark Apostle)
-5 x Bolt pistol/ccw
8 x CSM
-2 Plasma guns
6 x Daemonettes
10 x Furies
8 x CSM Havocs
ARMY TOTAL = 1000pts
There ya go, I ususally dont go for infiltrating lists but thought i'ld give it a go this time. Rip it up!

Hey gen.nehring! Always glad to see another follower of Lorgar!
If the meltas don't work out for you I would suggest getting Plasma Pistols, as they give you both
I think that Furies are the second most underrated Daemon in the game (second to Plaguebearers, but only if you're playing Deathguard) These guys will serve you well as long as there kept in squads greater than 8... Which you're already doing!
All in all a very tight list.
For aspiring champions - always always use mutation
Personally, I think meltas work wonders in assault squad. It enhances their destructive capabiliy more than 2 S4 attacks ever could.
Blood Blade is spot on with everything else I reckon.
oh.. doesn't the HQ need MoCU??

I would also advise dropping infiltrate on the havocs, as they can lay down fire support at long range more effectively than close, and get some more daemonettes as they can be a massive pain for your opponent.
Some are born great, some achieve greatness, and some have greatness thrust upon them. And then, there are others...
Umm, the Dark apostle does have the MoCu, guess you missed it, anywho, the whole reason i was using infiltrate on the havocs was to deploy last to preven counter deploying, but if i do drop infiltrate and add MoCu instead, this would leave 16pts to spare, maybe to add a lil to the DA or add mutation to the second squad?
also, i was using 6 daemonettes for fluff purposes, but i think i will switch that to 8 of each type daemon.

Unless I did my math wrong, I have your Apostle-accompanying squad at 217 points, and the shooty squad at 202. Maybe it was just me, but I would double check your math.
