Faction Commanders

Each faction may nominate a forum member of that faction to be the faction commander during the Battle for Aurora Prime campaign. The faction commander will have access to special orders and privy to certain information that could grant additional bonuses to their faction for the campaign.

Not all on Aurora Prime are willing participants in the Imperial defence of the planet. For generations cults and heretical sects have been knowing a the underbelly of Aurorian society. Undermining Imperial faith, sapping morale and praying to blasphemous gods for an end to the Pax Imperialis.

For these individuals the coming of the Chaos Marines and the war I nthe North heralded a new beginning. From hundreds of hideaways across Aurora Prime groups sprang up. Some consisted of a handful of agitators spreading the fear and hatred against Imperial rule. In other areas demagogues have fanned the flames of discontent into outright rebellion. Riots have struck across the East Coast of Akos and the Arbites and security forces have struggled to contain them.

The centre of the rebellion is Hythun Prime. For a millenia the Heirophants of Hythun Prime have harboured a deep resentment against the Aurora Combine and the Imperium. For over five thousand years the Hythun Dynasty ruled the Aurora system with complete authority. Yet in the space of thirty short years the Aurora Combine had wrested control from them. The Imperium had stood by and let this sordid collection of money lenders and thieves rise up and topple a holy regime. These grievances have festered, slowly nurtured year after year. The grim story of betrayal passed from Hierophant to acolyte.

The Hythun Dynasty has hoped for change, they yearned for it, prayed for it. It was not long before something answered these prayers. It was in dedication to the great mutator that the Hierophants and Gene-Masters of the Hythun dynasty committed their first act of treachery against the Imperium. At the climax of a dreadful ceremony the Hierophants re-set the genetic codes of their progeny. No more would the ancient Dynasty produce paragons of humanity. Instead the Hythun dynasty would father a new breed of humans favoured in the eyes of Chaos. The Temple of Purity was now consecrated to the Changer of Ways, Tzeentch, the Architect of Fate.

For years the Heirophants kept their activities secret biding their time to seize control of the planet. However when word reached Hythun Prime that Chaos raiders had been engaged in Northern Akos the elders of the Hythun dynasty knew their time was close at hand. Following the Imperial defeat and retreat the rulers of the Hythun Dynasty revealed their true allegiances and raised banners triumphantly o nthe city walls in honour of the dark gods. At first the rebellion went well. For two days mutants and gene-guards fought with common purpose. They slaughtered the small garrison of PDF troops garrisoned in the city and overran the Adeptus Arbites precinct. Anyone who dared remain loyal to the old regime was swiftly and brutally destroyed. The rebel forces turned next on the closest symbol of Imperial rule to hand. The Cathedral of the Blessed Flame.

The Sisters of the Blessed Flame know their home well though and have fought a bitter defensive action. For the past week they have held firm against wave after wave of mutant beast spawned in the ‘Temple of Purity’. The Sisters number sare few but have been bolstered by the thousands of pilgrims who were visiting the Cathedral at the time of the rebellion. Whipped into a frenzy by the speeches of Ordo Hereticus Inquisitor Saul Juronka these men and woman are more than willing to stand defend their holy ground.

Meanwhile in Northern Akos the Chaos Marines have found ample support amongst the frontier towns. Many I this region have little regard for the Imperium and are willign to throw I ntheir lot with renegades as mere mercenaries and sell swords. Others are more dedicated to the cause of the ruinous powers. Men and woman too weak or too foolish to understand the horror of Chaos and its temptations and care only for temporal power. The Chaos Marines on Aurora Prime care little for them save as slaves or cannon fodder to hurl as minor distractions against their foes.

I'll run some traitor guard matches for them. random territory due to me knowing a bit too much

Sounds fair. If need be we can include them in the CSM faction for as long as necessary. I'd hate to combine the two factions, just a the developers have worked hard on designing the group.

Well I have some renegade Guardsmen and Deamons so i will run these guys until a proper cult leader comes along.

unpopulated factions are untouchable so They will just sleep until somebody comes along and fights for them. I'll do some random games with them just so they are in it a bit more.

Chaos Auxilla are doing pretty well though leaderless If somebody wants to be demon prince commander of thisfaction they should PM me.
