They should have psychic defense, though. I mean... they're from the warp... They are made from the stuff that psykers protect themselves from our die horribly when using powers.
40k: Silver Angels of Our Martyred Lady 7/2/3 - Daemons of the Great Squiggle! 3/1/0
Fantasy: Windhost of Athel'Loren 2/0/0 - Daemons of Another Great Squiggle! 0/0/0
Warmahordes: Legion of Everblight (Absylonia)
My Only Suggestion for Everyone is to start buying some rhinos and Black Marine Boxes....cause I fear and feel that if they are releasing Deamons in the Chaos Codex then it will be some time be for they release another codex just for the Deamons

I've heard whispers that Daemons could be getting a face-lift sometime in 2013...
I'd honestly wait for the new chaos marine book AND 6th edition to drop though before going all-in with a new spiky marine army though. Who knows, maybe deep strike will get amazing in 6th and transports will get nerfed?! (hey, a girl can dream right?!)
The tyranid gargoyle box is a great place to start.
I use my 'Furries" in fantasy a lot and used bloodletters and gargoyles mixed to make mine. KIT BASH MUTHA
They turned out really well and saved me a lot of money.
Also the Reason I was saying to start buying some Chaos Legion Stuff is because the Deamons as an Army is not very popular...so I dont really see a reason that Games Workshop would drop the Deamons Codex in the same year as the Chaos W/E Codex because of money purposes and because of popularity.
One Chaos codex at a time for them so they make more money and if they are putting Deamons into the Chaos Marines Codex then maybe there will be the ability to field a Deamons Heavy Army list that is viable for a while...basically stocking up on Legion Stuff will just be a backup.

I love my furies, especially in Fantasy as Slaan-o-Engine says, they're invaluable for running as screens and hunting down skirmishers/fast cav/smaller missile units/war machines, etc...
Sadly, they suck balls in 40k. For the same cost as a Grey Hunter, we get a 2 attack/S4 jump infantry with no options for power weapon/s or even rending! Add the deep strike disadvange to what's purely a 110% close combat only unit, and boy are we getting the shortest end of crapstick.
Much as I've tried to use mine and even just play them for funsies, they tend to bounce off of even crappy units like tactical marines or even fire dragons and the like!
I only use mine in 40k because I don't play alot of cutthroat competitive play and because I like my conversions. Hopefully the next book makes them either dirt cheap like gargoyles, or else gives them a bit of a boost so they actually usefull!

Amen brother. I don't think Daemons will be as good being psykers. Daemons do not have guns and with guns you pull the trigger and it works (maybe except Get's Hot! weapons). Daemons don't have guns, so they need weaponry that will just work, rather than work on a successful leadership test. I heard that in the new CSM Legions book, the Daemon Prince will become more like the Daemons Prince, ergo they won't be psykers. Time will tell.
Here are my thoughts on what needs fixing in the new Codex;
Troops choices- These seriously need a beefing up. Besides Tzeentch demons I think the other three need something to make them more viable, maybe for Bloodletters give them sometype of Armor and ability to buy assault grenades, maybe even a pocket powerfist upgrade so they dont get stuck with a Walker in CC. Deamonettes give them a 4+ Invuln straight up, yea beef up the points but they are supposed to be agile which would explain the 4+ (where as Tzeentch relies on its deamonic aura for theirs). Plaguebearers give them some kind of shooting attack, I am not saying like raaaah bolter range but maybe 18" poisoned shots, and something to deal with Walkers. Horrors just increase the range of Warpfire to 24" and thats all they really need already have a bolt for Walkers.
Elites- Beast of Nurgle needs a severe beefing up maybe make it toughness 6 with 3-4 wounds, it is nowhere near on par with anything in the same group.
Fast Attack- Screamers and Furies need something to make them standout. Both of these units are very meh for the point cost.
Heavies- No real change here except lower point cost on the upgrades for Daemon Prince. Would be nice for the Soul Grinders Vomit to be AP 3 though too.
HQ- I really liked the idea someone mentioned where the Greater Daemons act as Icons for any Daemon that shares their god. Great Unclean One needs some minor beefing up maybe make it toughness 7-8, I could have sworn nurgles thing was higher toughness but only the plaguebearers reflect this. Other than that maybe lower the point costs on the upgrades by a few points.
ALso All Nurgle deamons immune to poison or make them harder to wound them with such weapons. These are just a few thoughts with the current condition of the codex vs game.
