Dwarfs can be allied with other types of chaos armies such as the mortal, daemonic and beasts of chaos army lists, rite?
as far as i know, no they cant.
that was allowed in the last edition, and even listed in the realm of chaos book as to what general equaled what alies you could take.
but as far as i know now, the only alies that you can take in you're own army list is dogs of war.
lemme clarify what i meant. I play a mortal chaos army thats worth around 1500 points. I wanted to add a small bit of shooting to it and decided to add a large unit of 30 blunderbuss armed chaos dwarfs. Hordes of Chaos have a special rule that says that they can ally themselves with other chaos based army. For example, Say I fielded a Demonic Army (meaning all demon units except Lords and Heros count as a core choice, where as All other types of Units from the other chaos armies that don't count as rare choices, count as special, except for Lords and Heroes of course.) With that in mind, and considering that Chaos Dwarfs Are a type of chaos, do they benefit from the special rule that they may be allied with with other types of chaos armies, eg. Beasts of Choas, Mortal Chaos Hordes, Demonic Chaos Hordes, or are they completely sepperate?
Note: Chaos may also take dogs of war, but they all count as rare, not special.
it means an acctual chaos army, one of the three, beastman, mortals, deamons.Hordes of Chaos have a special rule that says that they can ally themselves with other chaos based army
chaos dwarfs are their own army, and can not be taken in a normal chaos army.
I'm afraid not. Chaos Dwarfs are independent of Beasts and Hordes. You can take hellcannon, because they were custom built for Archaon, but Chaos Dwarfs are independent altogether.
It's in the theme. Chaos Dwarfs occupy the Dark Lands, and rarely leave their cities unless they need more slaves. Also, they fight wars against Orcs in the West, Cathay in the East, Ogres in the South and Chaos in the North. If they fight wars against Chaos, trade very few war machines with them (compared to Ogres, who receive enough cannon to equip units of leadbelchers) and worship a different deity altogether (Hashut, the Bull-god), then they are unlikely to align themselves with Chaos. In the Storm of Chaos, however, High Priestess Helna Blackhand of Chaos Dwarf House Blackheart travelled to war with Crom. This character was created by a member of the Hand of Hashut forum, and inserted into the campaign to bring Chaos Dwarfs to the forefront. The main reason for their presence was the promise of Slaves to send back to the City of Zharr-Naggrund.
Hope this helps.
By the way, the Chaos Dwarfs are not a type of Chaos, they are a different thing altogether. They are called chaos by Western, ie Empire, Tilean perception, but are really just those who gained tusks as a mutation and began to use magic (a form of Chaos) in desperation when they were isolated in the East. Their salvation was the Bull-god. In truth, they are as much a Chaos army as Dark Elves, Undead or (potentially) Dogs of War.
