has anyone got any ideas for a combat patrol army for the world eaters?

also, in the codex it states that there must be a hq with the mark of khorne for berzerkers to count as troops, otherwise they are elites... would this count for a combat patrol army aswell?

i was just thinkin that a combat patrol army is meant to be based around troops and to have a hq in a world eaters army will kinda spoil it.

its the same as the emperors champion to the black templar.

I believe, in the absence of any HQ choices, you take the aspiring champion with the highest points rating and consider him the 'leader' for the purposes of army selection.

But since my book is at home, I could be wrong.

Yes, for Kill-team/Combat Patrol you can use the A.C. with the most points as the Leader, an HQ is not required, only one troops.

Combat patrol and Kill team are 2 different things. The combat patrol give you the ability to make a 400 pts army with at least 1 troop choice and 1 hq choice. The kill team is 1 squad of no more than 160 pts with very different rules.

In the combat patrol HQ mean HQ, so it's either a Lieutenant, a chaos Lord or a greater Daemon. A chaos Lieutenant have his place in a 400 points army in my opinion, the danger is to give him too much gift and to tool him up like we would for a 2000 points game.

World Eater combat patrol:

List #1
[HQ]
Chaos Lieutenant, Power weapon, Bolt pistol, Melta-bombs, Juggernaut of Khorne (111 points)

[TROOPS]
Chaos Berserker Squad ( 8 ) (174 points)
(7) Chaos Berserkers, Khornate chainaxe, Bolt pistols
(1) Aspiring champion, Power weapon, Bolt pistol, Melta-bombs

[HEAVY]
Dreadnought, Twin-linked heavy bolter, Missile launcher (115 points)

Total points: 400 points
Model count: 10

I agree 10 models for a 400 points army is not a lot but you can't fit 2 berserker squads with a Lieutenant in a 400 army unless you do something like this:

List #2
[HQ]
Chaos Lieutenant, Close combat weapon, Bolt pistol (57 points)

[TROOPS]
Chaos Berserker Squad ( 8 ) (174 points)
(7) Chaos Berserkers, Khornate chainaxe, Bolt pistols
(1) Aspiring champion, Power weapon, Bolt pistol

Chaos Berserker Squad ( 8 ) (174 points)
(7) Chaos Berserkers, Khornate chainaxe, Bolt pistols
(1) Aspiring champion, Power weapon, Bolt pistol

Total points: 400 points
Model count: 15

I agree 15 is better than 10 but the Lieutenant on the Juggernaut of Khorne is worth a full unit by himself and he's really fast. The dreadnought can also come as a surprise in such a small game and it's configuration make him an infantry killer. So you have 2 squad with a blend Lieutenant or you have an awesome Lieutenant, 1 good CC squad and some fire support.

ooo ooo, i wanna make a combat patrol, gimme a sec.....................

wow, that was actually really hard, i had to resort to a tiny daemon bomb list to make it even any different from thyr's list. not many options for a worldeater army at 400 pts.

Unnamed400 Pts - CSM: World Eaters Army

1 Chaos Lieutenant (HQ) @ 121 Pts
Mark of Khorne; Power Fist (x1); Bolt Pistol (x1)
Feel No Pain
Daemonic Flight
Daemonic Resilience

3 Khorne Berzerkers Bikers (Fast Attack) @ 120 Pts
Mark of Khorne; Chainaxe (x3); Combi-Bolter (x3)
#Chaos Marine Bike

6 Bloodletter (Troops) @ 156 Pts
Bloodletter

Models in Army: 10

Total Army Cost: 397

i get the feeling this army list'd suck on the field too.

p.s. my army builder informed me that a leutenant on a jugger is illegal due to the 2 wound limit on characters.

Crap, the Juggernaut is really an awesome machine for a berserker character. I guess you'll just have to give him D. strenght and D. mutation to get the number of attack you would have had with the juggernaut.

Nice try on the list Rengaw, but like you say, with an army such as the World Eaters who's so elite you don't have much choices.

P.S.: where are your icons to summon the bloodletters?

You cant have Dreadnoughts in 40k 40mins, hey have a total armour value of 34.

I'd add some more berserkers.

He's right, dreadnought can't be taken in a combat patrol the armour value limit is 33 and sadly the total armour value for the dreads is 34. Bah I never played one of those.

I guess list #2 is in order then for a combat patrol game using world eaters. One cheap Lieutenant and 2 berserker squads.
