Design your own Battleforce!

As GW say, their Battleforce gives you an amazing saving of £16 against purchasing the items individually.
But seriously, 3 bikers, 12 Berzerkers, 10 CSM and a Rhino is a bad starting point for an army, (well, if it's a Khorne-heavy Undivided one, it's not *that* bad).

So, if you think you know what an ideal starting point for a CSM army should look like (we're talking Undivided here, cult armies are a special case), go to http://uk.games-workshop.com/storefr...901&orignav=10 and look at the prices.
Try to come up with a better Battleforce than GW that costs between 60 and 70 pounds and post its contents here.

Example:
Chaos Space Marines Obliterator (1 random model) £12.00
Chaos Space Marines Squad (8 models) x2 £30.00
Chaos Space Marine Predator £25.00
Total: £67.00

Well im not very much expeiance with undivided or whatnot. But heres what i would like

1- CSM Lord = 7pounds
2- 8 Man squads = 30pounds
2- missile Launchers = 10pounds
1- Preditor = 25 Pounds

Total cost = 72 pounds

It is alittle over the budget you layed forth But this gives you a strait army out of the box. Buy it build it, start playing.

Unless you are playing a khornate force. You cant get 2 troops choices out of the current battle box. And it includes no HQ. Thus is i were trying to get into the game and didnt know anything. I would buy the rule book and the battleforce box. Go home assemble it, Read the codex, find out i liked nurgle and have to go back to the store to buy a 2nd troops choice and an HQ before i could field a legal list.

This box gives you, 2 large shoota or Close combat squads. or you could in turn break the 2 large squad down to 2 small squads and include a squad of havocs with missiles or plasma in your amy.

I uncluded missile launchers as the "genaric" heavy weapon, but i suppose they could be anything.

If you mix and match parts, you can forgoe bezerkers and just get lots of marines. You might need a knife to cut away Khorn runes. So make sure mama and papa are there to help you and stop you from sniffing the glue.

Marines running with a heavy bolter look pretty damn cool.

Wait... are you saying that sniffing glue is what you did??

Anyway what Karmoon said was right, just mix parts from the marines and Bezerkers (Easier with megaforce or another pack of marines though... makes sure none are fully Khornate.)
This is what i am planning to do as soon as i get the money (I spend it to fast on blister packs and the odd box of marines... I really need to stop spending so much on chaos, i amassed 2500 points in 2 months.)

Anyway i think a good battleforce would be (Though it would require a couple of things to be remade into plastic):

8 chaos marines (£15)
8 chaos marines (£15)
1 lord (We need a remake into plastic like the space marines have for a commander model.) (About £1
5 raptors (Remade into plastic... with Meltaguns in the box!) (£15 (Same as Sm Assualt pack price))
5 raptors (See Above) (£15)

Total: £70
Price: £50
Saving: £20

Hmm I got the megaforce way back when, and I loved what was in it, except maybe the rhino. Things are huge targets and blow up easy.

For the smaller $90 box I would like to see this. Keep in mind no other small battleforce has an HQ in it. But with chaos, you can use the champion upgrade sprue to build a Lt.

20 chaos marines with the parts to make them bolters or pistol/CCW

2 oblit

This comes out a bit over $90, but you toss in the usuall discount for the box sets and it's about right. This would give you your troops, can make an HQ model, a fast moving unit, the oblits make a good versatile unit with heavy weapons options.

For the larger megaforce I would suggest the following. Keep in mind the new ones they are coming out with include an HQ model, and wide range of options.

some deamons good for combat, maybe 5 bloodletters or 5 deamonets.
