Oh another WA LO guy? I wish I was still there.

bwbits was moved to thewarstore.com, but here is a link to your BEAKY HELMETS (click me)

This thread seems dead. Maybe some WIP shots of your stuff will wake it up.

Anyone please correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure that Corvus armor was issued JUST prior to the Horus Heresy, and in the earlier stages of the war. It won't give the truly archaic look that some people like, but it works just peachy for pre-Heresy armor, and is readily available as you already know. Oh, and I believe that "pure" Corvus armor incorporated the crossed power cables chestplate (Aquilas obviously won't do except on Emperor's Children).

Sorry, but the only bitz source I know of is the Warstore (which BW bits redirects to), and you just said that it no longer works (at least for Corvus armor). : (

While I'm about actually posting, how does everyone else feel that the new Codex will affect their pre-Heresy armies? I can see some running into real problems from it, but I am excited as far as the Thousand Sons go! Librarians get beefy new powers, and now I can field the incredible Tigurius as a counts-as model (perhaps Ahriman). Plus, free heavy weapons for 10-man Tactical squads saves me some points, and Veterans with special munitions are a tantalizing option...

I have gotten no more progress done on my Legion in the past few months. I spent a large chunk of time not painting anything, and am currently working on finishing my 41st millenium Astartes. Bah, I still need to refine my green stuff skills to rework all the Mk. VII helmets into something more Thousand Sons-like...

Ok, you're wrong =P

Maximus armor is what you are thinking of. It was released just prior to the heresy, and was the first to feature the cross belt thing. It had the snub nose that comes with the Black Templar kit, but not a true beak. Then came Heresy armor (during heresy, not many suits released), and then finally Corvus.

I still don't have assault terminator arms. I'll get them once I get back into the hobby =/

Hey, what's up? Haven't really had time to post or do anything pre-Heresy related for awhile. Recently, however, a Horus Heresy campaign began at the local shop and I could not refuse the call. So, after pulling an all-nighter to build the army and then going into the shop at the crack of dawn, I found to my delight that the new spray gun airbrush thingy had been released. So, I had TOO much fun painting my army that day but surprisingly it was reasonably ready in time for the big Apocalypse game that was running: the Istvaan Drop Site Massacre. Needless to say, we butchered those loyalist scum! Pics of the actual army will come later but by way of appeasement, here's the captain who will lead my force in future battles.

I realise that he is not wearing the right model power armour but I was under time pressure. My entire army is made this way. Sorry, but that's just the way it is folks, I hope you can forgive me for at least that...

Well my Thousand Sons are adapting slowly as congealed snotling snot to the new Codex, but I've been spending some time upping my painting quality on some pre-Heresy Iron Hands. I tried a light drybrush of boltgun metal over the chaos black armor to give it the look of black iron (and to get some crude highlighting in), and I like the results! Here is Clan-Captain Lorkhan (minus Iron Hands insignia):

But what's everyone else been up to? Come on, I'm sure SOMEONE has made SOME progress on their pre-Heresy army! You probably just all forgot that this group existed, like I myself did. *chuckle*

I didn't forget but I am no longer making plans for a Pre-Heresy army

I like what you guys are coming up with though, keep it up.
