Greetings fellow LO'ers. I have discussed this with other members and we have decided to start a space in LO, for all the users who post in the Online RPG section. This clan will have a commitee of members who will help to keep the Roleplays on topic so they don't get sidetracked, to help build the background and depth of the Rp's, to improve the current Rp's, and to confirm any new Rp suggestions. This has been a problem for a while now, and hopefully this topic will help fix that. In this thread, feel free to post on any of the above topics etc. so that the online Rp's improve and for the members to get to know each other better. Edicius has gracefully agreed to help this thread and will be a leading commitee member, so over to him to post any issues he might have. Cheers,
Finally, we got this sorted out.
I'm sure many other members will agree with what Taint has said about the RPG's even if they do not play them thereselves.
It is a serious issue and its about time we cleared it up.
So lets have your comments, questions or suggestions about how you want the RP area to proceed.
BTW, I'm part of the Commitee, and as far as I know so is Taint and Edicius, for the moment...
Sign me up for the new online RP never tried the old one because of the fact that they got side tracked and never really went anywhere so if its gonna change I want to be Involved.
Sorry if that came across wrong, I knew the reason for this forum but I was just trying to get across why I havent joined one in the past

I think you have misunderstood. This thread is for the posters of the online Rp's to meet, discuss the current Rp's etc. Hopefully through this thread, the new Rp's will be better structured, and if a poster thinks they are getting out of hand, can inform us here on the commitee and we'll see what can be done. Hope that clarifies it,
I know we've only just started but I just have to comment on "The Village" RP, it's a great RP, but there seems to be lack of input and I certainly don't want an RP as good as that to die.
Are there any players who wish to join it and revitalise it or does anyone have any suggestions for boosting it's posts?
Biggest problem I see is the lack of organisation. There's no sort of post order or limit on posts per day, so if somebody joins an RP,then for whatever reason can't get to LO for a day or two, they come back to find that 2 or 3 people have carried the whole thing too far for them to catch up. The second problem is that a lot of people start of interested and post a lot, then lose interest and abandone it without bothering to kill themself off, which is a common problem in most RPs I've seen everywhere. If we can figure out a way around those tewo issues we should be able to keep the RPs alive longer.
For a good example of what I'm talking about check out the RP Taostee has going. He's got it all organised and monitered and it's moving along very nicely.

This is the kind of structured RP's that we are trying to introduce. Hopefully we'll be able to organise them better through this topic. Perhaps a structured system should be discussed then perhaps enforced, definately focusing on the issues brought up by edicius. Any ideas on how top resolve these issues are appreciated.
That depends on whos RPs you want to enforce. Nice idea on the clan thing, but enforcing a structured system on how RPs should be run?Originally Posted by taint_of_the_dark_ones
Well, how would you do that? I can't see any mods warning people because their RPs aren't staying to a certain way of doing it. That way too far.
The only realistic way is only being able to tell members of this clan what they are doing wrong. You can't really enforce it apon them.
EDIT: As for being left behind because you can't get on to LO for one or two day...well, I don't know about that...I guess if you can't get on, you can't get on. Simple as. If you get left behind, well, its your job to get your character back up to speed.
I think a simple way of fighting that would be to say to another player "Look take control of my Character for a couple of days."
Ok, someone else will be controlling him/her/it, and again it should be up to the player to tell the other player just what to do...like "Dont make him do anything stupid." or "You have lots of Freedom with my character."

Sry Toastee, enforce was the wrong word. What I should of said was an article perhaps explaining a more structured system. I certainly don't have the power to tell someone they are doing it wrong, but you've gotta agree that alot of good Rp's start of well, but people get carried away or lose interest causing it to be just a waste of space. Your assistance would be appreciated on this,
Heh, aye, it wasn't the word I would have used. I understood what you meant, but at first I thought..."Hang on."
Plus alot of people may not want to be in this clan. I don't...not that I dont like the idea, just I dont want to. So alot of people may have their own RPs....and the last thing I would want or they would want, is people coming in and saying:
Im not saying you would, but meh
