Starship operators is also a good example of a more recent show which focuses on ship to ship combat. I thoroughly recommend it.

I have just got in to anime the past few months so here what i have watched.
Dead space
Lucky Stars
Azumanga daioh
Helsing and Helsing OVA
Naturo
Pokemon (Who the hell hasnt?)
Thats all so far.
What is everyone watching these days? Has anyone seen that newish one of Dante's Inferno?

Mainly been watching a variety of shows, some old, some newer. Haven't seen Dante's Inferno though, although I am tempted. Same with Halo Legends actually.
I'd still recommend the following:
Higurashi no Naku Koro ni + Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kai
Cowboy Bebop (Movie and series)
Ergo Proxy
Neon Genesis Evangelion + End of Evangelion (Everyone should watch this really, just for the experience)
Gunslinger Girl
Spice and Wolf
Code Geass
Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann
Darker Than BLACK
Black Lagoon
Ghost in the Shell (Movies and series)

Halo Legends didn't quite live up to my expectations. But that may be because I started watching it with the mind set of watching the Halo story in anime form, which it just isn't. It's more like Die hard, or Naruto in anime form.(Some parts of it. Others are actually decent!) Die hard is fine and all, but it should really be kept to the American on steroids. Naruto is just blashpemy.
Cheers!

I'm having a break in anime watching at the moment, due to me ploughing through all the seasons of Star Trek: TNG. Just can't get enough of that bald man and him and his crews adventures in space!![]()
I've been catching up on anime recently and some of the newer ones are quite good, in particular:
- Durarara
- Baka to Test to Shokanju
- To Aru Kagaku no Railgun
- Mayoi Neko Overrun!
- Working!!
- Darker Than Black - The Black Contractor - Gaiden (OVA)
- Darker Than_Black - Gemini of the Meteor
Mostly comedies here, but some light hearted humor after work is always welcome imo. I also watch Reqiem for the Phantom, can't remember who recommended it but it was good so thanks for that. Reminded me alot of Noir which I may dig the DvDs out again and give it another run.
On another note though, Stargate Universe has started again and its awesome!

Hey guys, been awhile, hasn't it?
Anyhow, schools wrapping up for me, and i've been thinking about getting around to seeing all of the classic anime I was so deprived of as a child. I've got a few things on my list right now.
Should it be considered a sin that I've only just gotten around to watching Tenchi Muyo!...?
Also, I have School Rumble and Excel Saga on my list. Excel Saga has been a riot, but I haven't gotten far enough into School Rumble to really make a judgement call. Anyone got any insight?
