Lond Explaination for my absense: College, but not for the reasons you think, it's not because I've been too busy, I've just been focusing more on my PC/Console side since my classmates are so cool and I decided to be friends with 'em! I haven't dropped LO or WH40K, just put it aside for a bit.

And just today I realised that I have a Tournament in 20 days. And I should have models en route in the mail for a quick paint job plus I've got about 8 Vespids to paint yet...

But all in all thius'll be my last big 40K project for awhile.

I got $300+ (and still saving) for my Wii (Nov. 19! Yay!) and again, I'm kinda re-exploring my PC/Console Gaming self. I have actually joined up with anougher classmate to work on a game (Freeware, so more for the fun and xp) and I just discovered Freelancer, and I'm hooked...so yeah.

But I will try to work slowly on my Pre-Heresey Death Guard Project (Using the CSM Codex ) and on that note I hope to start some time around X-mas.

Monet is almost kinda tight, I've been driving for at least 40 minutes daily due to work and college and with our gas prices having only just dropped from what I feel are all time highs (1.14 cents a liter! but at least its down to 89.9 now....) so my wallet was getting hit baddly from that, then theres art supplies (Luckily I get a 25% discount for working at Michaels Arts and Crafts) plus the odd stuff. Add to that I'm gearing up right now to get my hands on a Sony Vaio UX so money's about to get tighter, thank god I get at least 200$ per paycheck, and if this year's Xmas season is anything like last year's, along with a 'hopeful' raise(The handbook says we get one...) for having worked there a year I should be making 340$ or more per Paycheck.

Fair enough. Good luck Mike! Is Freelancer that space trading game, where you can go to equivalents of futuristic Germany, Britain, the US etc? If so it's pretty good: although you can really sink some hours into it. I'm currently into Oblivion, and goodness you can waste some time there!

Hey clan, sorry I was gone for so long [Or was I...] but I really have no idea when the site came back up. My favorites link was dead, and I just figured out the site was back today. Anyways, here's a 40k update:

I'm painting Kroot Mercenaries... yep. Kroot. I decided to try them, and currently have 2 boxes, one half apinted the other one unassembled. I alos have a shaper! Haven't done a whole lot on my AL, but I've touched up a few guys.

As many of you may have guessed, I didn't win anything at Golden Daemon (boo!), but I did finish my bike (yay!). Unfortunately, I can't show you any pictures just yet because I've lost the lead to my camera (boo!).

LN, dark eldar? Brave. I can't really think of a less forgiving first army, but go for it. Do I remember you saying you hated the DE models? Or is that simply me projecting my opinions?

Now, about me. I haven't really done anything since I finished my Bike, but I am contemplating different traits for my Black Dragons. Swapping drop pods + true grit/counter attack for infiltrate saves me some points, is similarly fluffy (mostly, I'm not entirely sure about this bit), and slightly more effective. So, while I agonise about that, all I can do is model special weapons troopers (2 plasma guns, one for each tactical squad I'm working on, to go with the 2 melta guns I already have) and make more army lists.
One day I might get that crisis suit painted, but what with having just started my final year at uni (the only one that counts towards my degree), leisure is mostly out of the window.

Ho hum.

Finally (sorry for the long post), how does anyone feel about another competition? Peeps seem to have decided on armies and be fairly set on stuff, so how about it? Ideas please.

Not a lot going on over on this end of things... little money to buy stuff, and I'm just trying to figure out what I'm going to do. My Tau didn't sell, so I may have to keep 'em - $100 for $225 worth of stuff, and nobody wanted it. x.x

Humn, another competition does rather appeal... at the moment I'm thinking about more retinue for Inqusitor Alice, so small squads would be nice, although pretty much anything would do, provided it's not one particular army. It would be good to work on something wacky again. I really enjoyed the bike comp and felt that the jetbike pushed me forward with painting, something that's not happened for ages.

Have I mentioned how good it is to be back on LO? I've missed Shadowy Flame, and come to realise that a forum for eccentric armies is rather rare: over the last couple of weeks I've got sick of reading responses that start "But space marines don't do that..." I think it's easy to get fluff-obsessed and blinkered to the point where you start impeaching on other people's right to be creative... but rant over now.

Frankly, LN, I'm surprised you can't shift your Tau, especially with the new book. Considered putting some sort of advert at your LGS? Good luck with the DE, by the way. Pick the models and units carefully, and you will have one hell of an army. I find that there's too many naked ladies and not enough cenobites in the model range, but that's just me.

Anyhow, must go to bed before I pass out and my head hits the keyboard.
