So who's with me on here? I can't be the only paintball player on L-O. Let's hear it. ^_^
Hey Nemesis!!! lol the two man clan!
Team Name: Delta Legion
Callsign: Night Haunter
Taem Location: Massena, NY
Preferred type of play: Woodsball
Marker(s) Setup: Tippmann 98 Custom, scope (dont know what kind)
Future gear: Better barrel, scope, and stalk.
Favoured Field: Dynamite Hill (thismeans where we play right? this is actually some land my friend's dad owns that is all dense woods. we just call it Dynamite Hill)
What type of mask, etc. do you have?
Here's what I recommend for your 98C:
Barrel: J&J Performance Edge Kit, Smart Parts Freak Kit, or the Dye Boomstick 2-Piece Barrel. Any of these three, although pretty high in price, will make your marker incredibly accurate. Another barrel I would recommend is the 98C Flatline Barrel, as it adds a lot of range to your marker, though it isn't the most accurate.
Loading System: The Q-Loader. I recommend this over other hoppers, not for the speed (as a sniper doesn't need speed) but for the ease of carrying and the silence; how many times have you been running around the field, and the paint in your hopper or pods has been rattling? No more! The Q-Pods are packed pretty tightly (view the movies on the website!) and the whole system itself can be underslung on your marker, making for an extremely low-profile setup (instead of a big hopper jutting out from your marker) ... not to mention the speed with which you can reload. However, don't be fooled - when they say "200 round" and "500 round," etc. they mean they come with 5 of the Q-Pods, which are each 100 rounds. Ideal for a sniper!
Scope: Don't get anything with a huge magnification, because you're going to be just as close to other players as you normally are. Go for a relatively decent Red Dot scope and make sure to tune it in with your marker so that you get a hit on the first of second shot.
Stock: My personal favourite style of stock is the solid stock, found here. It looks the best, in my opinion, and should give you a stable firing base. Any other stock will do, though, if you like the looks of other stocks.
I wouldn't recommend getting something like a bipod, etc. as they simply add weight to your already semi-heavy marker, and you could do without the weight.
Hope this helps. ^_^
I also suggest buying the VForce Profiler Goggles, which come in a variety of excellent colours, are thermal, and add a lot of periphereal vision, which is wonderful in paintball (most other masks give you hardly any!).
Note: Don't buy the items I've recommended just like that - do some research for yourself, too. Also, don't buy from those specific sites - try eBay, and other websites, most notably Anything Xtreme, which has some of the cheapest selections I've seen. There are plenty of other cheap websites, too!
You asking me what kind of gear i have makes me feel stupid, because i dont know. the mask just came with the 98 Custom starter set. I have it painted with some greens and yellows (from the Citadel Lines  ) to break up its outline, and there is Ghillie coming off of the back of it to go with my Ghillie suit.
But yeah i dont know the names of any of the stuff. My friend who got me into it is a paintball fanatic, so i let him tell me what to buy. i trust his judgement because he is obsessive over paintball. he wants us to compete in a tournament next spring.
Well, check out things on the internet, etc. and look into what I suggested - I've been playing for about a year now, and it's a pretty large part of my life now. We have around 15 players on the team, maybe a few more, including two dad's and one of my dad's friends.
edit: I threw links in there, y'know. Just click on the ones that can be clicked on!
Our team is pretty small. Me and 4 other guys. 2 other friends of ours may join though. there are other kids we play with, but they arent very seious about it like my friends and me are. they are all junior high schoolers, so annoying!:realmad:
I know the feeling.Originally Posted by Word_Bearer_Apostle
The youngest player we have on our team is a freshman ... so it's not horrible. A bit annoying at times, though.
The "core members" are my dad, a friend of mine's dad, and the rest of us are Juniors in high school.
Also, check out that 24 Hour Games site that I posted in the first post - it's a scenario game field, in Georgia, that has a total of 7 24 hour scenario games planned for next year. I'll be the general of Red Dawn III, so check it out. ^_^
we have one freshman, but he isnt your ordinary freshman. he almost never speaks. we call him Silent Tod. He is our Pointman.
We are hoping to get together enough kids to do a 24 hour scenario game soon.
Make sure to check that site out, then. Red Dawn III is in May and should be really cool.Originally Posted by Word_Bearer_Apostle
It's Bring Your Own Paint (BYOP) as well - most fields are field-paint only and overcharge it; Hoop, the owner, doesn't do that to people. Very fair field, and there's usually between 400 and 500 people at each event.
