POWER METAL thy name is Manowar...pure cheese - love it! Also try Helloween, Metal Church, Onslaught, Yngwie Malmstein's Rising Force, they are all good power metal bands.

40K is less popular because they have dumbed it down to appeal to the kiddies. There are really few tactics to use except assault (lots) and shoot (lots) there is little middle ground IMHO. Compare 2nd ed to current, it's still good but it is very limited compared to what it was.
Disposable income is the big factor.

Bit it's a vicious cycle think about it, marines sales wouldn't be nearly as high if they only got as much attention and promotion and advertising as the other armies, it works the other way around. They promote them endlessly, thats why they make up 50% of sales.

I've not seen it (though its on the GF's Foxtel all the time), but there was a lot of controversy about making the plight of POW's in WW2 into a humourous sit com. Not really funny in real life. Sure people might say The Great Escape did, but it really didn't. Can't say much on the issue as I've not seen it, but still food for though.

I can't believe that there are people in this world who haven't seen Hogan's Heroes.
It is one of the all-time classic comedy shows.
I can't even understand the whole "but it's making fun of POWs" arguement. It was making fun of the German Stalag 13 Officers, not the POWs. The POWs pwnd the place, they just didn't let Germans know it. They even ran sabotage and "underground railroad" missions from the camp.

    Controversy?

You can all sit around watching John Saffron or Billy Conolly paying out god and people dislike Hogans Heroes???

We all know its a fiction story and isn't meant to be an accurate portrayal of WWII. How can people get angry at Colonel Hogan?

ah well at least mpdscott knows comedy when he sees it.

No, I was just never interested in war shows. Plus, the above have a point when they say being a POW isn't a funny situation. Billy Connelly suing God, that's funny because it's ludicrous.

Yeah, but then he pulled out... wishy washy peope these days...

One of my favorite quotes of his is: "You shouldn't judge a man untill you've walked a mile in his shoes, because then, who cares? You're a mile away and you've got his shoes."
