I play classical violin, but I guess nobody's interested frankly. Songs? God no. Bands? Tchaikovsky, no he doesn't count. I still listen to modern music though, like Radiohead, REM and the Rasmus. By some freaky co-incidence, they all begin with 'R'.
Hell bent on twisting the rules of Inquisitor to my dark desires.Mod Edit -
Ignore this person. What a waste of perfectly good oxygen. There are kids in Antartica or China or Korea or some other country that would kill for the oxygen you are wasting with each passing minute.
I'm a classical guitarist, i've dabbled a little in contemporary styles but have always found it doesn't compare to my love for the nylon
I have been playing for almost ten years, I'm currently working on my diploma for the instrument.
My favourite composers for the guitar are carulli, sor, tarrega, giuliani, albeniz et al.
My favourite performer was the maestro, Andres Segovia.
My favourite piece for the guitar is Sor's variations on a theme by mozart's "the magic flute"
I listen to many types of music including metal (Cannibal corpse, the haunted, in flames, darkthrone, slayer, iron maiden etc), Steel string fingerstyle (Pierre Bensusan, Adrian Legg, Michael Hedges, Martin Simpson), Punk (Black Flag, Pistols, minor threat) Folk (Drake, Dylan, john Martin etc)
Can't really think of much else to say, only big up the musician clan!!
What instrument(s) you play: Classical Guitar, like to move to electric soon.
How long have you been playing that instrument: Just started, almost a year
What Instruments you have: Standard Classic Guitar, Keyboard
I enjoy playing the classic guitar but I love rock and would like to move to electrical soon.

I play tenor and alto sax in my school's band, and I'm a beginner with bass and drums.
Sax I've been playing for 4 or 5 years, and bass/drums less than a year. I have an Antigua tenor (I forget the model) and borrow an alto from the school when I have to play that, looking at a P. Mauriat model, though. My bass is a Washburn XB-120, and my drums are a not-so-good third party, though my dad is getting a nice Tama double-bass set with Sabian cymbals.

Prepare to be blown away though!
Wow, that was an intense video! I makes me even more eager to play classical music in September. Very fast for a old dude who looks 70! The video itself looks very old, how long ago was this?Originally Posted by stonehambey
For those of you with access to BBC2 then be sure to check out the BBC young musician of the year final which is broadcast live on the 20th May.
I'm rooting for David Massey, a young classical guitarist who is the first guitarist to reach the final in over 20 yrs!!
Please have a look at his website which can be found here and have a listen to him playing, it's really quite remarkable.
Good luck David!
