1500 pt. DH/Inducted Guard Army (comments sorely needed & appreciated)

So I've decided to switch over from doing a flat-out Guard army to building a DH/IG mix. As the models are much more expensive I want to get my list just right before I make anymore purchases. So, all feedback is greatly appreciated.

Taking the thunderhammer means you lose the NFW if I remember. I'd rather have the S7 powerweapon than the hammer.

This unit seems so expensive and very squishy out in the open. If at all possible, I'd say stuff them in an IG chimera. Personally I prefer a cheaper squad.

Okay, but I'd prefer to see something more reliable than heavybolters and missile launchers. Lascannons would go nice here.

Illegal, you still need two infantry squads. Lascannons don't go so well in PCSs I've found. Keep them with grenade launchers or flamers. Lascannons go better as batteries in line squads with a commissar.

You're trying to do to much for this tank. Anit-horde, anti-tank, anti-MEQ and it will suck at each of them. Keep it plain, with heavy bolters, or better yet, plasma cannons.


All in all you suffer from anti-tank. With one meltasquad in a flimsy rhino (no smoke or EA) and three unreliable lascannon shots you probably won't be doing much to AV13/14.

I think you can do a lot by cutting points on the Inquisitor. If you want a dakka one, keep him as cheap as possible. Psycannon, three heavy bolters, maybe a sage and/or pair of mystics (saves 36 points in total). Though I may defer to more experience DH players on that account.

Thanks for the input. I have realized my error with the missing infantry squads since posting, and have incorporated the change. Also, I have heard much about the unreliability of HBs, the only reason that does not match the other squads is because that squad is supposed to be vostroyan models, which do not have a ML model. They do however have very pretty lascannons. I like some of you advice and will apply it after I've received a bit more feedback. Thanks again.
