Hey,

Would I be able to use an Inquisitor Lord form the Inquisitor model range? Also any you guys got any idea's or examples for a ownage Retinue? Because i want to start another one for different battle situations, maybe a BIT more on the shooty side of things. Also would you be able to use just a normal inquisitor instead of an inquisitor lord for your HQ because of point reasons?

No, because the models in the Inquisitor range are much larger - think Dreadnought or Avatar sized, for comparison. Definitely not 40K human scale.

Check the pinned tactica on the top of this page, it has a bunch of different effective builds. Also, try the search function, just about every build ever made has been posted here.

No, sorry - HQ's must be Inquisitor Lords, and Elites must be regular Inquisitors, no crossover.

how much bigger are they than the 40k models, plus just the fact taht they are bigger does that mean you cant even convert them a bit either?

Offhand, I don't know the scales. But I can tell you that the Inquisitor range of models are easily 2 or 3 times as large as 40K models. So unless you want an Inquisitor who's literally taller than a Dreadnought, then no you probably can't convert.

wow, thats huge...haha that would look funny, seeing a HQ bigger than a dreadnought, also can you make your own Inquisitor Lord like from different Warhammer and 40k models, or some mordheim stuff, im probably sure you can. Any models you thnk might be good for conversion for some henchmen or inquisitors?

Inquisitor stuff would be way too large for a 40k army unless you shrank it. Just buy some bits and make your own inquisitor if you dont want to have to pick one of three, thats what I did.

Of course, that's how a lot of us do it. I have three Inquisitors: the first is the bolt pistol/book one that came with the army deal. The other two are home made. Both use different Dark Angel Vet Sergeant bodies (basically robes over power armor). Since one of them was going to have a psycannon, I bought a GK Terminator Psycannon arm and a GK Terminator sword arm, cut off the ridge above the shoulders to make them slightly smaller, and greenstuffed the left shoulder icon to look like an =][=. Basically, he looks like he's in kickass artificer armor, but still has the hooded Inquisitor look. The second of the home made ones has a pair of lighting claws made from standard SM Termie claws. I left the Crux Terminatus (or whatever it's called) on the left shoulder, and painted an =][= on the right shoulder.

If you want an Inquisitor in terminator armor, look to the Classic/Collectors section of GW's store. They have the old Inquisitor and GK models there from when the Inquisition was basically a squad you would ally with anothr Imperial army.

Basically, an Inquisitor would have excellent equipment, so feel free to take models from just about any Imperial army to build one (just watch out for chapter-specific logos). Daemonhunter =][='s tend to be more open about their work, so noble-looking guys are more common than hooded sinister figures (only my long ranged Inquisitor is hooded, the other two are painted in gold armor and obvious insignia).

For henchmen, feel free to get crazy. Look for (mostly) unarmed, (mostly) unarmored models. I bought a blister of 3 IG Sanctioned Psykers and use all three as Sages. Necromundia figures make great Warrior henchmen. Any small child or animal would make a good Familiar. Anyone hooded or robed would work for Sages or Mystics. Acolytes vary depending on what you give them. Heirophants are well-represented by any fiery-looking holyman - the Redeptionist gang from Necromundia is good for these. And remember: GW waived the WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) rule for Inquisitorial Henchmen, so don't worry if your Mystic has a gun or anything like that. Even the standard Heirophant model has an Eviscerator (even if it only counts as a CCW).

well....the last few games i have played have kind of steered me away from the inq's - they fall down like paper plates and they end up acting like a stationary, very expensive plasma cannon. if you make them durable they dont make their cost. personally i do like the idea of a cc inq, but theres no room with my gk...
i do love them for one reason- they are very characterful and can be unique. almost anything can be considered an inq. ill post a pic of one of mne here when i get a chance. a great inq conversion idea is to use a engin seer, change te axe to a blade and alter some other features.

I am thinking of a radical Inquisitor made up from the Fabius Bile body (with all the chaos symbology left on), the Inquisitor Coteaz Daemonhammer right arm, the Saint Celestine backpack. I don't know about the left arm yet though.
