What point value do we all think that are GK should be(not necessary will end up)?

For the Justicar should be around 35 to 40 points. There is no reason why he costs more than a GKT right now.

For the PAGK maybe 20 points.

    GKT should be 45 points.

BC should be 50 to 60 points. Also he should not be an HQ choice.

GM should be 125 to 140 points.
Why use science and education when ignorance and superstition will work just as well.

I think your right.. how can the something with all the goodies of a justicar and in terminator armour cost less than a terminator... terminator less the cost of term armour + power armour = 31points?

BC should stay as an HQ option, but also introducing a Chapter Master at about 90points, giving him 2 wounds and an extra attack.

Maybe more HQ option, we have chaplains in our chapter don't we, so why do we have an option to play with them.

Actually, the Grey Knights don't follow any of the standard organizational practices of our Astartes cousins. (Certainly not the Codex Astartes itself, of course.) We don't have chaplains, librarians, chapter masters... none of that. The Grey Knights aren't a "chapter" in any sense of the word. And not space marines either, save for confusing labels on product. The fluff in the DH Codex doesn't even mention any status positions between BC and GM, so to get our "middling" GK hero, GW will have to invent one out of whole cloth where one didn't exist before. Either that, or label the middling guy as a "Veteran" BC.

I don't really care, just so long as we get one. The gulf in stats and abilities between BC and GM is too wide for me to believe that a GK can advance directly from one to the other without any transitional period.

The Justicar is priced fine. A regular GK costs 25 points. 10 points more than a SM for NFW/SB and all the GK special rules is fine. A Justicar is 25 points more. For those 25 points you have to include Terminator Honors and the cost of a Power Weapon. Add those to the regular GK cost and low and behold....you get...50 points! So there you go.

Okay, ill have to get back to you when I have my Gk books back, but i'm sure in the GW Novel "GreyKnights" they had some sort of Chaplain... I'm sure it was a chaplain.. a religious guide in terminator armour with one shoulder painted black to show his office.
I'll have a quick skim over it in the next couple of days and get back to you...

Yeah, the Ben Counter book. Has a GK chaplain in it, true enough. But ... that ain't official fluff. In official game fluff, there are no GK Chaplains. The Black Library books do often take liberties with established fluff, and the GK Chaplian in Grey Knight is far from the only example where the BL books break from the established game universe.

Indeed, I'd use the codex for fluff over what any BL books say.

Saying that do we really need a chaplain? Aren't we solid enough in CC as is? I enjoy being different from the Space Marines and not being a part of the Codex Astartes, I don't want to all of a sudden conform with it and become a SM chapter with silver/grey power armor.

That to me sums it up quite nicely. Sure, we have some similarities, but I really enjoy playing a somewhat more unusual army. That's why, while I would enjoy having some of the tactical options available to SM's, I really don't want GK's in Jump Packs, Drop Pods, or Bikes. Seems to me that just moves us closer to being just another SM chapter.

Yep, thats why I think allowing GK to have a more reliable method of DS'ing would be a nice unique option. Also like many have echoed here already, GK always teleport down into battle, let our entire army DS (well barring LRs and Dreads).

Lets look at it this way. A Justicar always gets 3 attacks. A GKT will only get 3 attacks on a charge. Now a GKT has LD 10 and a 2+/5+ save where the Justicar only has a 3+ save.

The GK have no Terminator Honors. I still say that the Justicar is over priced.
