The only honorable options left to we combatants is seppuku or semantics...which amount to the same thing really.

Well thats the rough evolution I'm planning on. I likely will change all of this after I play with the 1000 point list.

You have a fair few points in each army that you can use up.....

Anyways, I think they look fairly solid, but I would suggest allowing for the full 100 points of gifts for the Thirster in 2K points. Most of the better builds will come to about 100 points. Ex: The 2d6+2 attack + re-roll all misses + 3+ save will come to 95 points IIRC. Or if you want a 3+save, immunity to magic weapons, re-roll all misses, and s7 and flaiming, thats 100 points. Most of the thirster's best stuff comes out will the full 100 points of gifts.

With the HoT, I remember hearing that all of their gifts are either 25 points or 30 points, so you can't do 40 points of gifts. So use those extra herald points along with the other 11 points to give the thirster 100 points of gifts.

I like the use of fleshhounds, though.

I agree with what you've said about the gifts. I don't have the book yet so all I know for sure is the troop points costs that I've memorized. It probably would have been better to just say that I was reserving 180 points worth of daemonic gifts to spread between my heros and HQ's. The numbers I placed were arbitrary guesses about the rough number of points I wanted to spend.

Thanks for the comments though. I'm a little torn on the 2000 points list though because I would like to have a BSB in there on one of the Tzeentch heralds but it probably means droping a unit of furies and running a bare bones Herald with no gifts other than the BSB. Don't really know where else I would shave points from the list. If I drop the Bloodletters to 15 I can run them in three ranks of 5 but I don't know if I want to make the sacrifice.

I also like the flesh hounds. I think they just might be Khorns best troops. Most people see packs of dogs and they think of the cheap march blocker/war machine hunters that most armies equivalents are. But a flesh hound are pretty much the same as heavy cav, except they hit hard even after the charge.

Good stuff....but the list seems a little empty to me. I would suggest investing in more core choices, as though while the other choices are tempting I think the strength of the army lies in the core. It wouldn't be too hard to do so if you skim a few point of the more exspensive options (while three juggers and a herald is going to kill plenty, it seem's like a lot of point for a single unit at 1000 points).

That being said, I can't really see any weakness in it, none that doesnt apply to all daemons anyway.

Just remember: The HoK doesn't get look out sir while with the Bloodcrushers. 0+ save or not, he makes a sweet target for Warp Lightning cannons and great cannons.

Yeah I know where your comming from on the HoK and the Bloodcrushers. My thoughts on the Crushers in 1000 points is that there won't be much at that level that could stand up to a charge from 3 plus the herald. I have furies in all my lists to screen important units and war machine hunt.

My other option at the 1000 and 1500 points is to drop the crushers and get another unit of Flesh Hounds. They have the bennefit of being less high value targets and if I drop my herald into a unit of Letters he will have look out and be granting the Letters hatred.

Thats almost more scary with an extra unit of furies and a unit of fleshounds. More wounds, more attacks though at less strength. Maybe more overall utillity too.

    bloodthirster(450)
    -awsome strength(75)

    herald of nurgle(115)
    -level1 wizard(50)

    20 bloodletters(240)
    -full command(30)

    20 plaguebearers(240)
    full command(30)

    20 horrors(240)

    5 flesh hounds(175)

    5 flesh hounds(175)

    6 flamers of tzeench(210)

    DD4

with this list i am 30 points over the limit and dont have much magic but still have 3 20 strong units of daemons a monster with 7 S10 attacks(!)i put my herald in the unit of PB and give them regeneration
i havent put this army to use yet but could someone give me some tips on it?
