Being the 10th of May, I was quick as a flash to get the new book! WOOT!
Now, I've come up with a Khorne list. I was going for Tzeentch/Khorne, but I've has imense trouble fitting everything in! I'll have to work on it. In the mean time, here's what I've got:
L - Bloodthirster
Axe of Khorne, Immortal Fury, Armour of Khorne
H - Herald of Khorne
Juggernaught, Obsidian Armour
C - 20x Bloodletters (joined by Herald to form 4 ranks of 6)
C - 10x Bloodletters
C - 10x Bloodletters
C - 8x Furies
S - 5x Flesh Hounds
S - 5x Flesh Hounds
R - 4x Bloodcrushers
Standard, Icon of Endless War
TOTAL - 1996
There's only one thing I'm torn between - Whether to use a Herald or Skulltaker. Both will be the same points, but one gives my Letters hated, the other MR(2). One rocks hard in a challange, the other gets 57. Dunno.....

Aww, cmon guys! Nothing at all? I;m the only one that hasn't had a reply?
It looks reasonable, though the only weakness could be the size of the smaller bloodletter units.
Having an army and not owning a rulebook is like owning a car with no steering wheel.Originally Posted by amishcellphone
Not too bad, but i don't see the point in giving the herald a juggernaut if you're gonna put him in the letter unit. If on a juggernaut i would really consider putting him in the bloodcrusher unit. Believe me 4 crusher + herald and an extra D6" on the first charge smashes through ALOT.
And maybe try and get a few points for a unit of flamers, i tried them for the first time yesterday vs VC and they pwned!
I had a unit of 5 and they toasted a Varghulf, 5 black knights, about 15 ghouls and in combat they added another 8 kills.
They are GOLD! From now on i'll be using 2 units of 5 i think
Yo tim well must say the list looks pretty solid. make sure you assault the enemey magic and shooting fast since you don't have any of your own. if it's a magic heavy army make sure you put your hounds up as a screen since they have MR3 they will have a nice time defending the rest of the army from magic.
for a 2K list it looks really solid for a mono god list. if you moce up to 2250 add one more Bloodcrusher and another herald mounted to the same unit. or beef up your other 2 bloodletter units
Thanks for the replies guys, much obliged
Rork, I see you're point about the 2 units of 10. If not just to fill my core, I plan to use them as some sort of flankers or even charge re-dirrectors. With M5 now, I think they could fill this role.
Jaaktrekaak, the Herald is with the Bloodletters for a couple of reasons. Firstly, he fleshes out the ranks to give me 6*4 at a reduced cost. Next, he has the Locus ability, and at 6 wide, I lose no fewer attacks than if I take 5 wide with a herald on foot (IE, 4 bloodletters see base-to-base contact in each case).
The Jugger is also there to provide his 0+ armour save, as much as the extra speed.
4 Juggers + a herald? Boy, that's a wide unit. You risk not getting one of them into combat, and they are too expensive to have simply for the purpose of unit strength. Besides, a Bloodcrusher Champion will provide the same amount of kiling power at a reduced cost if I wanted it, but I feel 4 is enough, until I get a chance to play test this list. See how I go. I can always do as you suggest if this doesn't work...
forumjayz, I don't think the Flesh hounds will be screening all that much. Not only will 5 be a tad to small to block line of sight completely, , but these guys are wasted as a screen. With 2 wounds each, they can rush upto enemy shooters and make a meal of them, support Bloodthirster in a charge, or wait for juicy flank charges along with Bloodletters. Too many uses to use them as a simple screen. Furies can provide that if I HAVE to screen with something (cheaper...MUCH cheaper, too...)
Thanks to all so far.
Also, any thoughts on whether to go with this current Herald, or Skulltaker? Both are the same points....
well what I ment with screening is that you just charge your hounds to the enemy shooting wihout a lot of fear due to there MR3 and T4 and 2wounds they will moust likelt make it. wel the skull taker is nice but I don't kow if he has the same unit boost properties a the normale herald but as a charcter killer he is amazing and he will be very usefull for said roll.
so it depends what you want: support or chacter killing
Well..what do you think I need?
It's a tough one. Both are capable at taking on enemy characters. Obsidian armour really screws with the enemies weapons. Skull take lacks this, but can kill ANYTHING in one hit. He's someone I know enemy Dragons WONT be charging....
TBH, if there was a model for Skulltaker on his Jugger, Id go with him....but the Herald on Jugger looks incredible....hard for me on this one.
Oh well. Any more help to make up my mind would be awesome.
well you also have the blood thirster which can alos kill just about anything in warhammer. So in that regard you could probably go with the mounted herald model and save your self the trouble of having to convert a skulltaker on a Jugger. tHe Herald will still be a good addition to your army nice support and a amazing save allthough is still dpubt a 0+ save could exesist isn't a roll of 1 always a fail?? but he will grand the unit hatred which will prove very usefull I think.
Hope this helps
btw what do you think of this list??
Herald of tzeentch 140 (lvl2 caster)
master of sorcery (25)
29 horrors 360 (lvl3 caster) (+banner)
10 bloodletters 150 (full command)
5 flesh hounds 175
5 flamers 175
7-9 PD (boon of tzeentch)
no sreamers or furries but a lot of nice cc and some very badass shooting
0+ save is possible, and a roll of 1 is always a fail. The point of 0+ is for armour save modifers. Basicly, it takes a s6 hit to modify the save to anything bellow 2+. 0+ is amazing for a Daemon, who tend to lack armour a bit as they come with a Ward save anyway...so 0+ AND a ward save....awesome.
Thanks, I'll just stick with the Herald I think. BT is a fantastic Character killer in his own right and I LOVE the Jugger Herald model, so hopefuly I'm covered. Wonder how he'd do against a Star Dragon. God, I'd love to mince a Vamprie Counts general with this guy So much satisfaction.
