I bought the spearhead and finnaly went throught it all(book and models,) and decided I only like Khorne and Tzeentch. I'm selling all my extras from the spearhead(ebay) and this is what I have after buying more stuff.
- Daemon Prince
- 2x Bloodletters (20)
- Horrors (20)
- 5x Hounds + Karnak(or whatever its name is ;p)
- 5 screamers
- 5 screamers
- 5x Skullcrushers
What do you guys think?
Anyhow, what did you give to the Daemon Prince?
Skulltaker is rather weak on the defense, if he gets charged then he'll most likely get molested before he gets a chance to fight back. I would only put him on a Juggernaught and go with the Bloodcrushers if I ever take him in my list.
Karanak, with the point cost of a Bloodcrusher but without its 4+ armor save, higher strengh, and killing blow.. I'm not quite sure if it's worth its cost. Besides, his special rule only kicks in when you fight off against your pre-determined character, which is quite hard if your opponent doesnt want his character to get in combat with Karanak.
Screamers are great, but without the support from Furies, they will not last for very long.
Bloodcrushers are great, but having 5 in a unit will make your unit 10" wide and very hard to manuaver. I would probably split the unit into units of 2 and 3, and (like I said earlier) stick Skulltaker in the unit of 2.
Overall, your army lacks the dispel dice, you will get destroyed if your opponent plays all defensive spells .. such as, Ogre's gut magic buffs -- regeneration, +1 strengh +1 toughness etc; Vampire's invocation, raise dead, dense macabre, etc.; etc etc.
