Writing daemon lists is trickier than I thought, here's what I've got so far. I've still got 134 pts left to spend, not accounting for any changes to what I've already got, of course.
GUO - lvl 2, Pestilent mucus, Nurgle's rot, Nurgling infestation
Herald of Nurgle - lvl 1, Palanquin, Nurgle's rot
14 Plaguebearers - f/c
14 Plaguebearers - f/c
10 horrors - Icon of sorcery
4 Nurgling bases
1. Your GUO really could use Trappings of Nurgle. Drastically improves his survivability (note sure if I remember this one correctly, I might be thinking of a Daemon Princes options).
2. Trim down your Nurgling bases to 2 or 3 because you will be building this unit up with your Nurgling infestation.
3. Use your remaining points to beef up the PB units. These guys live on static rez and kill denial, you need larger numbers to make the most of that.
The only honorable options left to we combatants is seppuku or semantics...which amount to the same thing really.
Thanks for the reply.
I had considered trappings of nurgle, but I really wanted to have nurgle's rot and pestilent mucus so that I could rack up my tally of pestilence quicker. I thought that the trappings contradicted this somewhat (and also I didn't have the points for it). But I agree it does make the GUO very difficult to wound indeed.
I don't want to go to 2 nurgle bases, I think perhaps 3 is the minimum I would start with. Instead of letting the GUO boost the unit from small to reasonable, I was thinking of starting the unit at a reasonable size and then making it ridiculously difficult for the enemy to handle after a few turns.
I think adding to the plague bearers is a good idea, what is a good unit size? I'm going to be using ghouls for PB since I refuse to pay £12 for 5. With 14 in a unit I can use a box of ghouls, a spare nurgling base to make up the other four and the herald/epidimius to make up the last four places for a 6 x 3 setup with US 16.
I also noticed that flamers come in boxes of 3, so I may beef that unit up to 6, don't want to let the little blighter go to waste!
