    Slaanesh & Khorne 2000pt

Ive been a fan of slaanesh for quite a while so when the new book came out I planned to do a mono slaanesh army but unfortunatly I realised that it would have no real heavy hitters so I chucked some Khorne into the list and this is what I came up with.

    Keeper of Secrets
    Lv 2 wizard upgrade

    Skulltaker

    Herald of Slaanesh
    Lv1 wizard

    Herald of Slaanesh
    Lv1 wizard

    14 Bloodletters with full command

    15 Daemonettes with full command

    15 Daemonettes with full command

    5 furies

    5 furies

    5 fleshhounds

    3 fiends

    total: 1993 points

    all comments are welcome.

My first thought is that you don't have a single ranked up unit, and you are going to get eaten alive.

Buy another box of Daemonettes to make each 20 strong would be the first thing I'd do, closely followed by considering whether those 100 points from level one wizards couldn't be better spent elsewhere - like Many Armed Monstrosity (love that).

Your Keeper has very few upgrades - unfortunately I'm at work right now, so I can't say "take these!", but he needs some beefing up.

A few thoughts on your list.

#1. Skulltaker is bad on foot. He is M4 which means he will actually slow your Bloodletters down when he joins them which is a very bad thing in a Slaaneshiesque list. Mount him on a Jugger or replace him with a regular Herald of Khorne with Armour of Khorne and maybe Firestorm Blade. The regular Herald will also give the Letters hatred which is good. Remember that Skulltaker is a character killer, if he doesn't have the mobility and freedom to chase down your opponents Heroes he is points wasted because your opponent will just avoid him. (I would personally mount Skulltaker on a Jugger and join him to your Hounds)

#2. At the very minimum give both your Heralds of Slaanesh Torment Blades so they can get the +1 attack from having two hand weapons. Also give one or both Siren Song, this is the best gift possible to give a Slaanesh Herald in a large block of Daemonettes.

#3. Your Keeper needs Siren Song, it is a must. Allure of Slaanesh would also be good to protect in close combat.

#4. Drop the Bloodletters to 10 with music only. Use the points saved to beef your Daemonettes up to 17 (18 when joined by Herald). Give both units Banner of Ecstacy.

#5. Break your Fiends up into two units. Two fiends is easier to manuver and still has the US to negate ranks. The lone fiend is ideal for war machine hunting and taking on light calvary and such.
The only honorable options left to we combatants is seppuku or semantics...which amount to the same thing really.

i would say get rid of the greater demonbeacuse umless you plow the extra dice into him youll never get anything better than his level one spell off, and if you do do that hell get scrolled, id use 3 heralds with wiv one and siren song and drop in some seekers instead, theirs nothing better than forcing your opponents archers or weaker units to charge into a fight they cannot win on the first turn, also nothing better than running down entire units of archers or war machines turn 2, if you do use the GD then out fit him too kill stuff, youll find hell get more points back being in the thick of it that coppingartillery in the vain attempt to stupify the opposition.

I need the wizard levels because a smart player will focus all his magic on my non magic resistant slaanesh units and there is no other way of adding any defence into this army.

However Im having trouble getting all the furies I want without spending too much so I might drop one unit and use the points to tool up my heralds and GD.

I am willing to bet money that the +1 attack for a 5pt upgrade will be faqed as illegal. +2 attacks cost 50pts! why would GW allow a 5pt upgrade to allow +1 and a bonus to boot?

Does it also follow then that a thirster with flaming sword and axe of khorne gets a +1 attack as well?

No. Neither are listed as hand weapons, they just add additional properties to the model's attacks.

Having an army and not owning a rulebook is like owning a car with no steering wheel.

It very well may be faq'd at a later date. One does have to ask though why they specifically listed the Torment Blade as a 'hand weapon' when they did not do this for any of the other gift weapons. RAI is an even more slippery slope than RAW.
