1000 point daemons, back from warhammer break

I've been away from the hobby for the last six months or so, but I'm getting back in with a daemon list. I've heard that they are quite strong but they seem slightly weak on paper, so perhaps I'm not building them right. I have a 1000 point list I'd like some feedback on. I've not decided on my items for the characters yet.

    Herald of khorne on juggernaught

    Herald of nurgle on palenquin

    10 bloodletters (2 ranks 7 wide)
    Banner

    14 plaguebearers (3 ranks 6 wide)
    Banner

    5 khorne dogs (yuk yuk)

    5 furies

    3 flamers.

    Any feedback would be helpfull.

Looks fine. I'd try and give the Kherald Armor of Khorne at least for the 0+ save. The Nurgald could use noxious vapors and slime trail.

I think 7 wide is a bit much for Bloodletters and their 25mm bases, 6 should be ok. Drop the Banner for a champion, you need more attacks than CR.

The Plaguebearers can go up to 16 so you'll get full ranks. A standard and champion for challenges wouldn't hurt either.

You can drop Furies to make up the points. They're useful, but it pays more to have your blocks dead killy.

Overall it looks fine, what's been giving you problems?

I played in a teams tournament this weekend and won. I ended up going with the armor of khorne on the herald of khorne and the slime trail with the nurgle guy. Thanks for the input.

    Happy to help.

If you don't mind ==My== asking, what did your partner run and which armies did you go up against?

My team mate ended up playing a vampire list with two units of Zombies, some grave guard, a black knight unit, and a black coach. He had only one vampire for characters with very little in the way of casting power.

First round was against another vampire army and the new lizardmen. At the end of the game we had the black coach and all of my army but the furies left. The enemy was wiped out in turn five.

Round two we won the dice off to sit out because of an odd number of teams.

Round three we played against an empire and wood elf team up. It was a small single elimination tourney.
