Comments please, I'm a new player:
29 Horros w/ Herald
-Herald of Tzeentch w/ Master of Sorcery (Lore yet to be chosen)
Herald of Tzeentch w/ Power Vortex + Winged Horror
Fateweaver (Powers yet to be chosen)
with this list i am generating 18 power dice + my 2 in pool making 20 power dice. Obviously i dont plan on getting into combat. Please i need advice, also if you have advice on my lore for my herald inside the 29 horror squad and the spells for my fateweaver it would be much appreciated.
Wow that is a lot of horrors, its seems like a one trick pony and lets hope that trick (magic phase) you get a lot of punch out of it. I'm not sure I would find this a fun list to play or play against. Have you had a chance for field the list yet? Good luck with it. Please post results with the horrors.
have not fielded it yet but very soon, hopefully within the week. I will most likely be paired with a Orks and Gobbos army against 2 lizardmen forces. It will be fun and i think i will be taking the beast lore on my herald to scare the stegadons, carnasaurs, and also boost my partners strength in CC.
There isnt much advice one can give you. The army list has no creativity and it is definitley power play all out. I don't see how having just the magic phase to think about during your turn can make playing a warhammer battle fun.
My advice is you revise your choices, reduce your horrors making them 15 per unit and try fitting in something else which gives you something to do in the other phases.
In his defense he is playing in a doubles tourney so the army as a whole will have something to do in all phases, just not his part of it. That being said I wouldn't have much fun playing the army but everyone is different. If you wanted to make a magic heavy daemon army you have succeeded. There is not much to say about the list itself as that is about all you can do with it given what you want it for. As for the herald and Fateweaver, the good thing about those two is that you get to choose after seeing who you are playing. When you see what kind of Lizardmen you are facing, magic, close combat, etc.. you can choose what you will need most.
well we had started a match earlier but had to quit early, i was running minimal magic then and my lack of dispel dice and everything getting dispelled was not cool. They ran i think it was 6 stegadons, couple skink priests, and a slan. So i thought against the stegadons i would try to make them cower (btw the stegadons all had engines of the gods). Now if they do this again i can try to take a herald out and fit in the Skulltaker for killing blow on the stegadons and other models alike. Opinions on that matter?
