Just registered as I've been reading the forums for a few weeks now and is seriously considering starting up on Warhammer Fantasy (again, last time I played Warhammer was back in the mid nineties, I imagine lots have changed).
Anyways, I would like some feedback / critisism and helpful comments to get me started in the wonderful realm of chaos.
First I'll present the list, then why I picked it and finally how I imagine it would work.
Thanks in advance for all your comments!
HERO 1: Laazu, Herald of Slaanesh ( General ) 170pts
- Wizard of Slaanesh lvl1
- Siren song
- Torment Blade
HERO 2: Baaltazar, Herald of Khorne ( BSB ) 240pts
- Battlestandard Bearer
- Icon of Dispair
- Firestorm Blade
- Armor of Khorne
CORE 1: 17 Daemonettes of Slaanesh 222pts
- Standard Bearer
CORE 2: 14 Bloodletters of Khorne 186pts
RARE 1: 5 Flamers of Tzeentch 175pts
I have picked this army primarily on looks but also because of the relatively low starting cost. Assuming that I can build/convert Both the Herald of Slaanesh and the Herald of Khorne from remaining minis and bits I'll only need to get 2 boxes each of Daemonettes and Bloodletters and two blisters of Flamers and I'll be good to go. It helps that I really like the plastics, even if I'd have liked the daemonettes to be a bit more "profane". Composition wise the composition of my force gives me a fast and furious infantry unit, a hardhitting unit (with the Firestorm Blade Baaltazer will be STR7) and some "archery" for support and harrasment.
As for tactics both of the Heralds go into their respective units. I imagine trying to keep the Daemonettes and Bloodletters fairly close together so that the Daemonettes can make the most of the Icon of Dispair being transported around by the Bloodletter unit and also get to use the banners reroll for any instability tests I might have to make. Meanwhile I imagine the Herald of Slaanesh (Laazu, being into RPG's I can't resist to name my Heralds) would try and make as many opponents as possible stupid with her spell and if the option presents itself use the Siren Song ability to draw an easy kill. Hopefully there is a synergy between fear, stupidity, Laazu's Torment Blade and the Icon of Dispairs -2 LD ability that I can realize on the battlefield.
As for the Flamers they are my archers. I'll make use of their skirmish ability to circle around on the edge of battle and rain fire on the enemy. If I'm lucky my enemies will have to divide their forces to deal with the Flamers giving me the chance to overwhelm the remaining units in close combat.
So there you have it. Thanks in advance.
Seems like a good list, but daemons have some of the best magic possible, and i'd use that. I think that you should at least add a herald of tzeentch, or blue scribe to replace a leader (probably slanesh). Also, horrors are very good, and you might want to consider taking some. The Masque and Skulltaker are good too, and i might be tempted by them (also they are cheaper).
didn't think of that XD lol
i still think that it would be quite usefull to have some tzeentch, and maybe swicth a leader for skulltaker, or even the masque? Skulltaker can take out pretty much any leaders the enemy can through at you at hero level, and masque can be VERY annoying, limiting their movement and leadership. I think it looks like a very good army, but i might be tempted to replace the slannesh part. Thats just me, and i do really like this list.
Also, i dont think it would be too cheesy, its not like you'd be having a whole army, just a unit. I think that your suggested unit would really benefit your army, but it seems good anyway and it is up to you.
Hows this for a herald of khorne?
All you would need is the Bel'akor model
What about this?
Intirely demonette pieces

I'm not that fond of Bel'Akor as a Herald For my Bloodletter, but the Daemonettes are really nice, which is also one of the reasons I'd like to keep them in my force.
Speaking of the Daemonettes, would it be better to include the Siren Standard in the unit and drop Siren Song on the Herald? Denying charged opponents the ability to stand and shoot or run seems like a better deal than the ability to draw one unit into an unfavourable melee.
Also would it make sence to exchange two flamers for five furies? 3 Flamers seems like a very small unit...
Having an army and not owning a rulebook is like owning a car with no steering wheel.Originally Posted by amishcellphone
