I'm just getting back into WFB, and I seem to have a lot of: kroot, beastmen accessories, and greenstuff. Naturally, I decided to start a Nurgle horde using these for converted plaguebearers (I'll probably throw in a forgeworld unclean one since I love the model, as a 'herald on palaquin'). Anyways, I was wondering if it would be possible under 8th edition horde rules to make a single deathstar unit nurgle army. I had something like this in mind:
Herald of Nurgle
Icon of Eternal Virulence
That is all. Basically, you have 62 regenerating plaguebearers to contend with (and the herald), that always strike first/force opponents to strike last, and any flank or rear attacks against them get no combat res bonus. The unit also gets rediculous combat resolution from the standard + poisoned horde attacks. Basically, I'm wondering if this is practical/fun at all? I'd appreciate any comments/suggestions.
1st off the FW great unclean one is Huge. Like as big as a block of 25 plaguebearers huge. 2nd I know with loss of regen+ward save nurgle took a big hit with 8th edition. As far as it working I'm sure it still can but not like it did.
My upcoming blog in the works:
Take care not to get too hung up about regeneration. An enemy taking the banner of eternal flame for 10pts now has flaming attacks and with only 10pts has countered your regeneration!
