I don't play Daemons, nor do I own the army book. I just got done perusing the GW site and looking at the miniature gallery and the descriptions of each unit.
It has made me decide that Beasts of Nurgle are my new all time favorite warhammer unit. From the description they are daemons with the demeanor of a puppy that wants to play with everyone. However this is a problem since their very touch gives way to sickness and rot.
I just thought it was hilarious that there was a daemonic unit that literally "loves" its enemy to death.
Does anyone plan on using any nurgle in their armies along with these lovable little critters?
"I am the architect of fate!"
Their weapon is something along the lines of
"toxic touch and boundless enthusiasm (counts as hand weapon)".
Funniest weapon description I've seen in a while.
On other forums I wander through the Beasts of Nurgle are considered almost a must. Not because of the hilarious fluf, but also for the fact that they are so very hard to kill in combat and they have decent attacks which a lot of the nurgle lack either in quantity or quality.
P.S. I think "boundless enthusiasm" should count as an extra hand weapon....I mean common, they're so excited to see you. lol
The only honorable options left to we combatants is seppuku or semantics...which amount to the same thing really.
When playing them, I plan to insist on "No, they're not charging, they're just making new friends"
But yeah, DoC suffer from having too many great rare choices.....they torture us with tought decisions. The beast are great, espcielly since they have slime trail. Since you not going to have ranks anyway, there's very little reason not to play these guys with the utmost aggresion possible.
Plus after the reading the description I can't help but think of them as adorable.
I wasn;'t going to get any before, but now I think I will just for the lulz. Meet my BoN. It loves you. Pity anything it touches dies a horrible, painful death due to its toxicity- that must be what they ment when they said love hurts.

Nurgle is the loveable and playable guy!8X
Honestly, I don't think Nurgle gets enough lovin' as it deserves....I mean, among the older fans they seem fine, but the younger players seems to look him over in favor of other gods....
Hopefully the DoC book while help this a bit.....it already sparked the catch phrase "Nurgle is sexy" at my local GW
If i ever run a daemon army it'll be an STD army: Nurgle and slaanesh .
The book is looking good, the rules are looking great. New army here i come!
Got a "good" rumour from a GW staffer? Forget about it, LO'ers know more than any random GW shop staffer.
