I was thinking about facing tough armies and worried about magic not being reliable, then i thought about putting Bloodthirster in instead of Kairos or LOC and have 3-4 Heralds of Tzeentch with master of sorc instead. Obviously the trade off is no more tzeentch's will and better casting but i get an awesome combatant to take out otherwise "unkillable" characters. Is this idea good or I am better off with Kairos/LOC? I guess I want the best of both worlds
Sure, you could make it work. You'll just need some horrors to boost your magic power. Master of Sorcery makes a Herald of Tzeentch amazing, and the Thirster would really boost your CC. I actually like the idea of having a thirster in a magic army, but then again I'm partial to balanced lists
No, I don't have any wool.
It actually makes a lot of tactical sense if your really going magic heavy....i.e. having a good deal of horrors. No matter how much magic pain you throw out there, something will eventually get through....having that big nasty ready to fly to the point in the line that unit arrives at and deal with it swiftly would make an effective line of defense in all but the worst scenerios.
So depending on how much magic you have in the rest of your army (which I'm guessing from your heralds could be plenty), it's actually a great idea.
