I am kind of excited about having a new army but also kind of pissed at GW for reducing my once fine HOC army into two fairly worthless armies - unless I spend a lot of money that is .
I need help deciding what unit(s) to buy to get a competetive force for 2000 pt friendly games?
Here is what I have:
-3 Spawns (1 oldskool, 2 kitbashed)
-6 Seekers of Slaanesh
-2 lords of slaanesh on boobworm (damn GW for making this model obsolete - I have 2! --- any use for the boobworm other than a dustbunny collector on my shelf?)
-5 Khornate hounds
- 20 Furies
- KOS (scratchbuilt)
Basically I need a couple of units to get this to be workable - what would you recommend? Thanks
You could definately make those boobworm riders into Heralds of Slaanesh riding Steeds of Slaanesh. They would stand out from the rest of your army and they do look pretty cool. The only thing you'd really have to do with them is make the riders look just a bit more daemonic, but that shouldn't be too hard .
As for the units to make your army workable, if you're looking to make a Slaaneshi army, you'll probably want a few Fiends of Slaanesh. They are nice warmachine hunters as well as flankers. If, however, you're thinking about mixing gods--which I would highly reccommend--look at getting some bloodletters. Plaguebearers are extremely hard troops, and well worth every point they cost, but they are very expensive to buy (dollar wise, not point wise). Horrors are very useful as well, but are also expensive ($). Screamers are excellent harrasment units, and do very well with against most armies. I would highly reccomend them as well as flamers. As for the spawns, I think you could probably turn those into beasts of nurgle for your daemonic army. They are pretty hard to kill
No, I don't have any wool.
The lords on boobworms can be "count as" Fiends of Slannesh, and the spawn could probably be BoNies.

And over there we have the labyrinth guards.
One always lies, one always tells the truth, and one stabs people who ask tricky questions.
Looking great, nice idea about the claws.
Thanks for the suggestions. I just realized I need to split the Daemonettes into 2 units of 10 AND buy an extra unit of 10 to have enough cores for a 2k army - then I think I will augment the unit of 6 Seekers that I have with 3 units of FLESH HOUNDS for a fast and hard hitting army. What say you?
Also, your converted fiends are cool -- I definitely will not buy those effete and feebile ass looking fiends they sell now. I have 2 of the old style meats that I converted that look quite reptilian and will be painted in pink/flesh colors - also I have a 3rd which is the ancient OOP spawn with 3 tails and 5 heads that looks a bit like a gimpy DE hydra I plan on running these as my fiends.
