I was wandering how do you Equip your Nurgle herald?
I go with the palanquin with the slime trail plus I make him a level 1 wizard. It seems to work so far but was wondering if someone else has a better idea and how it's working?
I wouldn't give the L1 wizard because most of nurgle spells are short ranged and 1 out of 6 spells is not that great especially your Herald will be inside a unit and lack the LOS.
Miasma can be pretty brutal, though, and the +1 DD is always useful. Slime trail is a must. Vapours really helps against anything with light armour-> HE and WE for example. Its also nice when you get your half-dozen poison attacks on the opponent before he can strike, plus if the opponent is t1 due to Miasma...
So pretty much what I consider a standard setup for HoN: Palequin, lvl 1, slime trail, vapours. The only real downside is you're looking at a model thats around 250 pts now, but its hard to kill and it really supports its unit.

Phalanx has the right of it. Lvl 1 Wizard on a Herald of Nurgle is really powerful just for the sake of that 1st spell. Heralds of Nurgle do 2 big things, the first is that they buff their own unit with regen, the second is that they debuff the enemy so that the sub par weapon skill and initiative of the PB's does not matter. You really need the level 1 to get the full combat potential of PB's. The level 1 is also our cheapest source of DD magic protection, sad as that may be.
The only honorable options left to we combatants is seppuku or semantics...which amount to the same thing really.
I was wondering about Noxious vapours. I will try it this weekend and see how it goes. I was also thinking about making one a BSB maybe not putting a banner on it, just a plain old BSB.
Currently I use my Herald as a support caster, lvl 1 wizard with staff of nurgle.
A good cheap spell and an additional spell, means I can have a higher chance of caster more of my tzeentch spells.
Rule 37: There is no 'overkill'. There is only 'open fire' and 'I need to reload'.
I make my herald and the unit he's with almost undefeatable. Make the herald a level 1 wizard on a palanquin with the noxious vapours. The PB unit he is with give the standard the Icon of Eternal Virulence. The herald inlcuding the palanquin is busting out a total of 9 additional attacks all poison, which if wounds, will double in CR because of the standard. And he will go first because of the noxious vapours.
I first tried 14 and with the palanquin i was able to work with 3 ranks of 6....however 20 work well too as 4 ranks of 6. But they can be a bit expensive...
With the great unclean one taking the majority of enemy shooting and regeneration they mostly find combat.
