Just wondering, is worth the points to take the Banner of Sundering to a tourny? There's a few spells and Spell lists it won't work on, so could be a waste. I basicly have the choice between: Standard of Sundering OR a 2nd Spellbreaker and another 25 point gift (either soul hunger of FIrestorm Blade)
So, I'm just thinking that SPellbreaker will work on ANY spell, Sundering not...
And then we bring Dwarf armies into it...
Same goes for Firestorm Blade, really. Is it worth it in all comers? Hurts some opponents, useless against others. That's the only reason I'd go for Soul Hunger.
Firestorm blade is ~95% usable. Sundering is better than dispel scroll in "all comers" because it causes opponents to throw more dice thus overall can prevent them casting an extra spell per turn. If you have heavy magic then sundering not a huge deal but if not then it will be great
It depends on the make-up of your list. I was considering it (in 2250 ), but then opted for the combat res banner. There are armies that it is useless against (Dwarfs, who are reasonably common) and it can also mess you around - I'd consider taking Lore of Light vs Undead with my Masters of Sorcery, which wouldn't be a good plan with a Banner of Sundering.
Having an army and not owning a rulebook is like owning a car with no steering wheel.Originally Posted by amishcellphone
Well, I don't have many casters (5 PD at 2.25k), or any Masters of Sorcery, mainly just defense (4DD and 2 'Scrolls'). The Banner of Unholy Victory looks mighty good too...it's so hard to choose!
I'll give you a link to my army list anyway....

And it's armies it's useless against I'm worried about. If I then swap it for Unholy Victorym then I worry about magic..there's no win!
Hmm, hard one.
