Hey, everyone. I've been thinking about starting up a new Daemons of Chaos army lately and have been looking at their line of models. I'm quite happy with the bloodletters, daemonettes and the plaguebearers. The only models I really don't enjoy are pink horrors of Tzeentch. I'm also not interested in paying $20 for five of the things.
So I was looking around at different game's models ans stumbled upon the Wargod's Aegyptus line of models. The Tethru in particular caught my eye. They seem to be obviously based off Thoth as they each have stork heads and thin bird-like bodies. Which sounds exactly like Tzeentch to me. The warriors would make excellent horrors, I think. And the heroes couldn't be more perfect with bird heads and scrolls clutched in clawed hands.
Now my question is: does anyone have any experience with these models or their compatibility with Tzeentch troops? Are they the correct size (is fantasy a 28 mm game?) and if there is another source for cool daemon models.
Thanks for any knowledge or advice. I just got really excited when I saw these models.
**First a word of warning: GW does not allow other companies models to be used in their tourneys. If you arent worried about that then go for it with other company's figs. If you want do do GTs and Games Day tourneys deal with GW products only. **
The scale could be close enough, i think aegyptus uses a slightly leaner model so it would probably look nice next to daemonettes, but not next to plague bearers. I personally use the old cartoonish horrors. i think that it adds a comical feel to the game that only goblins and gnoblars rival. And its even better when your opponent has to think....THOSE beat my *insert uber unit here*?!
i think i saw one guy used goblins or night goblins or something and painted them pink to look like horrors. I think their poses and small size kinda resemble horrors..
Someone used ghoul bodies without the heads for horrors, he'd previously used the ghoul heads for his plaguebearers. I'll try and find the link *scampers off*
Anyone find it funny that Cities of Death show the two worst combat armies in the game ... in combat!
Can't you go totally Tzeentchian on them and mix up a few different kits?
I like the idea of a unit where every single one is different, but they're unified by their weirdness.
Just an idea. That would be pretty cost-effective too.

I think the ghouls have a smaller base. A quick trip to ebay can remedy this problem though.
I got a load of dryads and painted them pink they seems to do the job
