I am thinking of trying out KOS perhaps with masque and banner of despair in a 2000 point army and am curious what the best setup and use for KOS is? Since he cant fly, unless opponents come forward enough, he will have to go to them in the front or just get smaller targets which kinda defeats the purpose of having him. I thought about soul devourer(?)- 100 points might be a lot but that almost guarantees he wont be dying and he can also "recharge" by just charging into nearby weak unit. Siren song is also nice too and those LD check skills nice as well with a banner of despair/masque around... suggestions?
Well, even without gifts, I can safely say that you're going to want to make it a level 4 wizard. I was playing Math-hammer earlier today, and I determined that a single 4th level keeper has a pretty good chance of beating an entire Orcs & Goblins (My friend plays Orcs) army through Terror and Panic tests. Combine Phantasmagoria with the banner of despair and The Masque, and you can easily make most other armies (Damn Vampires) run for the hills from psychology alone.
As for Siren Song vs. Spirit Swallower, the choice is between a monster that can get it's wounds back while ripping out the hearts of the enemy and devouring their souls in the name of the Dark Prince, and taking advantage of the weakness of the enemies will, calling them to you and taking their characters from their causes and having them attack their own men.
It's really a matter of choice, A 4th level Keeper with Spirit Swallower is insanely expensive, but I think he would make up for every point if only through sheer point denial (due to the regained wounds) and destroying the enemies moral with Phantasmogaria (Great Icon of Despair + Doom & Darkness + Slicing Shards = dead unit). I really like the fluff behind Spirit Swallower too, and I like to imagine my Keeper ripping the callous hearts out of dark elves as they've done to so many others. Who says that chaos doesn't have a sense of justice, however twisted it might be?
I'm too lazy to come up with a witty sig.
how about against vampires? and should the army be more fast attack? any strategy do do this?
