Hi as it says on the title im starting daemons mainly because i love the models and because i have never played against them and i don't know anyone who does collect them. Hopefully on sunday i'll be able to pick up the book and a few models (i love the flamers) and write an army list. Untill then anything i definitely need to know or any unit i should definitely get/not get.
theirs not really anything that anybody can telll yopou you MUST have in a daemon army, theirs too many feasable options that you can take so it reaaly depends on how you like to play the game or how you really see the daemon army, the only thing i can say that youll probably get any way is heralds, they are awsome.
hope this helps
You'll also have to get two units of lesser Daemons to fill out your minimum core requirements. They're all nice, with lots of options and different abilities.
I'm too lazy to come up with a witty sig.
Well you said you like flamers which is one of the most over powered units in the army.
You can take this as a good sign
As has already been said you can pretty much take what you want. Daemons is one of those rare armies where almost whatever you take will be effective as long as you use it right.
Anyone find it funny that Cities of Death show the two worst combat armies in the game ... in combat!
I had a look at the book today and have decided to get it tommorow.
I was impressed by: skulltaker, fleshounds, flamers , bloodletters and the heralds.
In a 1000pts ill try to include most of that. Could someone be kind enough to write a basic list that would be competitive and fun to use (i know, very hard!) that includes lots of that. What would be the best 2nd core for the army considering one is going to be bloodletters?
Horrors are always nice to fill out your remaining core. They can cast a spell and add to your dispel pool which is always nice.
If you want another combat core (I recommend it) Daemonettes or more Bloodletters is a good way to go.
