My Daemons army is coming along, I have most of the models now, but I got thinking about Heralds. Currently the only Heroes i own at the moment are Skulltaker and Herald on Juggernaut.
So I was wondering, if I was ever to take a foot herald, what models would/have you guys used?
Do you tend to just use a Unit Champion as the herald or have you any other ideas on what to use?
I was thinking maybe a chaos warrior with a b'letter head or arms or something, maybe even the body of a khorngor or other beastman mayhaps.
I might just get more heralds on J'naut
I'm not sure is all.
Anything works really, I'm just going to use modified normal models (BL w/ bigger sword, pauldrons, etc).
Check out ==My== blog: www.bnhblog.blogspot.com
Could you describe what kind of parts you are going to use? Like from what sprues and stuff? Just so I can get a better image more or less.
Thanks for tip though
I'll just do a more detailed paintjob on the normal models - more tattoos on Daemonettes, golden Khorne symbols on Bloodletters, more colorful Pink Horrors and Plaguebearers who will look like they have just had a bath in a pile of crap.
As soon as GW notices they lack almost half the range for Daemons and make the generic Heralds, I'll be buying them anyway, so why all the fuss?
My two Heralds of Khorne are the Tzeentch Sorceror Lord from the Lord on Disc kit, and the sorceror on foot that comes with the familiar. I just painted them with a Tzeentch scheme, and made their skin pink and blue-ish. The other two heralds in my army are simply a Bloodcrusher and the Blue Scribes, which I made myself.. I should post pics of that, actually.
No, I don't have any wool.
I'm using the heros and lords from the chaos warriors range for my heralds. The full body armor ones. They stand out, and by and large look good.
for my skulltaker on chariot of khorne, i'll be using the world's biggest, meanest juggie model; the lizardman stegadon, converted and painted in metallics. That one will probably be a couple months away, though.
