Hi guys, I'm new on this part of this forum and I'm interested in playing daemons. I bought the army book and looked into it for a while. And it's pretty difficult is my first impression. I'm already familiar with warhammer since I have a Dark elf army. I can borrow models from a friend so it's a good chance for me to try some things out.
What do I expect from this topic?
I'm not asking you guys to write me an army list (thats half the fun of warhammer to me). But I could use some steering in the right direction. I'm not sure what units to take and also unclear about some rules.
What am I up against
My first battle with these daemons will be against the empire. I've played against my friends empire list in prev editions before and he likes to use guns. That is also my main concern. Battle priests are also a favorite in his army.
Goal of my list
With my Dark Elves I'm used to shooting and magic and would like to use it in my daemons list. I'm playing against a friend of mine so I'd like to keep it a friendly match. I prefer a fun list over a power list. With some shooting and magic I'm able to take down his gun units. Also I'd like to add some flyers to take out warmachines effectively.
What is unclear to me
- furies have 1 or 2 attacks? profile states 1 and they have fangs and talons, do they count as 2 hand weapons?
- What should i take / do against empire?

Bloodcrushers are a good investment as they can take the damage and dish it out equally well.
Flesh Hounds are an equally good choice as they have two S5 attacks each and are the equal to chaos knights in terms of stats (excepting armour of course).
Against Empire you want to hit them hard and hit them fast. As mentioned above, bloodletters are a good choice. Daemonettes are good against Empire infantry as they have a high number of attacks and high initiative they just don't do so well against heavily armoured opponants unlike bloodletters.
Furies are very good for taking out gun-lines and flesh hounds are great for flank charging.
Hope this helps.
Basically life sucks, there is only war and you're probably gonna get eaten by Tyranids, have fun.
