Am looking at trying out a herald of Khorne. Am not sure how to field him.
2. On Bloodcrusher
3. On foot
1. Alone (chariot)
2. With Bloodletters
3. With Bloodcrushers
Anyone have any input. What would you do or do you do?
If he is in a chariot does the chariots armour add to his own?
I am guessing there is no other crew in the chariot as it lists none?
Everyone is corrupted by Chaos, myself more than others!
Always field your Herald of Khorne on a Jugger. It would be stupid not too. The Jugger gets KB as well. I usually put him in a unit of 16 Bloodletters. I would think in a unit of Bloodcrushers he would die too easily.
1) Chariot: Expensive, slow cannon fodder. Phailsauce
2) Ding ding ding! Booster Armor, high M, and a nasty mount in its own right
3) Not a Juggernaut
1) On a Jugger sure, he can mess up weaker units but really can't break ranks or survive well.
2) Cheap (relatively) SCR, magic banner, champion, Hatred for all, ==My== best pick
3) Hatred is good, but he's vulnerable to getting picked out due to small unit size, larger units are almost impossible to maneuver
I've been building up a Khornate fantasy army, and I have been planning just to play Heralds on foot in my blocks--Armour of Khorne and a Battle Standard on one. It seems good.
On the other hand, the Juggernaut is pretty fantastic, so, here's my question:
Why not on a juggernaut and in a unit. That's legal, right? The Juggernaut is a 50x50 base, so it'd displace four guys instead of one, but my understanding is that he can fill up ranks as if he were four guys, so it shouldn't really make the block bigger.
Is that right? I'm kinda new to this game.
Yep, that's how it works. 14 Bloodletters and a Jugger Kherald is ==My== normal block size, 6 wide and 3 ranks.
==Me==, I do the same thing. However, my question is considering numbers. I know that herald on a jugger is the way to go, but how do count him in a unit?
Here's how I run him:
Bloodletters = B
Would that still count as 6 wide though? I've had plenty of arguments about this with other players that he only counts as one unit so then I'd have to run a formation like this:
King, go with the mounted herald. I've had that guy on the jugger ever since my first game with him. He's a beast!
The FAQ addresses it.
(Hint: The first way is right)
Thanks for addressing that .
I've had a few discussions about that and while I do go along with the FAQ, I always get the "experts" telling me it's the other way around.
Thanks for the clarification
