Great Unclean One
Lord of Change
Keeper of Secrets
Which greater daemon do you enjoy playing with and why?
I love the great unclean one, tough to kill with nasty magic and not to bad in combat, plus I just think he is the coolest.
Check my blog. www.dissentingdice.blogspot.com
I've tried the Not-so-clean Nurgle daemon, but it's just not made for my style of play. It is very well rounded though, and perhaps the beginner-friendliest next to Bloodthirster.
Bloodthirster... well, you know, bashes everything and it's even more straightforward than the GUO, plus somehow cheesy-ish.
Haven't tested the LOC yet, but my favourite is Keeper of Secrets. I just love the lore of Slaanesh and his ability to hunt mages and such is very good. Flanking isn't too hard either and he fits my army perfectly.
My hands-down favorite would be Kairos. But since we are talking unnamed GD I would have to say Keeper. I feel meh about the GUO and LOC and the Thirster just seems over the top to me. The Keeper is quite close to the Thirster in combat potential, can add to the magic phase, and is generally seen as less of a threat than a Thirster. Any GD is going to be seen as a threat but I think that generally when people see the Thirster on the table they think, "Oh ####, it's a Bloodthirster!!" and when they see a Keeper they think, "Hoorah, it's not a Bloodthirster."
LoC with Corona, Flames and Vortex and Lvl4. Can use 7 power die, have a decent chance to hurt lesser units and can shoot when not engaged in combat. Fly and add in the fact he can deal out some hurt in combat makes him a flexible choice. I'm also quite fond of the CC LoC with staff, corona and mastery.
Kipper is also a favourite of mine, used with spirit swallower.
I agree about the BT. "Oh a daemon player with a BT. How original...". No BT = more fun for everyone. But I am a filthy swede living with evil comp sheets and have a general dislike for any "no-brainer" choice out there... almost anyways, hehe.

Im going with Great unclean one. I like it's survivability factor. It's offensive power is average compared to the other choices, But it's there to soak up fire and frustrate the player with the fact it will just will not die.
If a Million Guardsmen die, that's a statistic. If one marine dies, that's a tragedy.
For me its the Thirster all the way but ive been playing since hoards and been following chaos since before that (Chaos Marines 40k 3rd or 2nd edition) so ive got those old prejudices still but in the new books i like the idea of a keeper ASF is awesome

I'm a Mono-Slaanesh player. My choice is already made.
Keepers and GUOs are a more flexible choice when it comes to picking a GD but I like my speed.

And over there we have the labyrinth guards.
One always lies, one always tells the truth, and one stabs people who ask tricky questions.
KoS is my favorite in competitive play. It has a moral effect on the enemy player, usually they rarely face one making them unable to counterattack to the fullest. The model looks fragile but the daemon is not, he can hack and slash almost all opponents in the game. Its drawback is the lack of flight but at least he runs a lot making him still tactically feasible. It also has access to a great magic lore.
Two thumbs up for KoS
I usually go with a great unclean one. I mainly do this because I have a large number of bloodletter infantry and they are able to keep up with a GUO. Also he attracts a lot of firepower and so I give him trapping of nurgle making him even harder to kill as a matter of fact I've never had anybody kill him yet.
Once he does get into combat he can kill pretty much anything that gets thrown at him.
Basically life sucks, there is only war and you're probably gonna get eaten by Tyranids, have fun.
