What was your crowning moment with a regular Lord of change and not kairos. I have yet to use a regular Lord of Change but I will soon and report on how he did.
If a Million Guardsmen die, that's a statistic. If one marine dies, that's a tragedy.
I use the regular lord of change frequently enough, usually with the Lore of Tzeentch, level 3 or 4, and a Power Vortex. The Power Vortex is nice because it means that all three of my Heralds have a pool die to work with, while the Lord of Change can toss out Boon of Tzeentch for extra dice. Usually, I toss off everyone else's spells first, holding the LoC's dice for a Bolt of Change. My opponents usually let just about everything else go through, holding their dispel dice to stop the Bolt of Change--which they usually do.
Sometimes, though, he'll get the BoC off, which is great, or he'll toss out a Flickering Fire or Glean Magic and do something useful, or he'll charge into a flank somewhere and win me a fight.
Mainly, though, he holds that Bolt of Change over my opponents' heads and helps all of my other spells go through.
Once again, the conservative, sandwich-heavy portfolio pays off for the hungry investor!
